According to a few reports I found, the average recruiting rating for Indiana is 86 - 88 which is mid to high 3 star and far below Bama, OSU, and others. Yet, they physically pushed them all over the field. Does this change recruiting going forward?

But aren’t they still 3 stars originally?

Yes. Mixing with specific pieces.

Got a stud transfer OL from Notre Dame. He was probably a 4 star

Yes, it will change things.. In fact this is guaranteed to change things. But this is lightning in a bottle, you can’t replicate it.

I’m sure even Cignetti, in a private moment, could really explain how this happened. It’s such an extraordinary moment, it’s beyond comprehension.

A few years ago, the winners (top 5-10) of high school recruiting were always the best teams and always the Champs. Not anymore it seems.

I post this every once in a while.

Recruiting rankings are almost totally BS. I got an up close look a few years ago when there was a 5 star phenom at my kids’ high school playing cornerback.

Every SEC school was on this kid. I watched him get beat by average kids every Friday night. He ended up signing with an SEC team and never got off the practice squad. ESPN had him top five in the nation at his position.

It’s all about coaching and Indiana struck gold with Cignetti. With him being at Bama under Saban Makes me wonder if there is another position coach at a big time program that is being held back because of something stupid like not having the right personality.

This guy can flat out coach. We might be seeing the next Saban.
