re: OSU HC Ryan Day explains how he chose former LSU WR coach Cortez Hankton

So Ryan Day is just as lazy as BK?

He wants home values to remain stable and grow because homes represent wealth to the middle. He’s also working on housing affordability which is tied to interest rates. He also wants reasonable interest rates on savings. To accomplish this, Bessent is revitalizing Fannie and Freddie to target low interest rates for first time home buyers so they can begin building wealth by owning a home. I think he mentioned the Treasury buying $200 billion of mortgage loans to provide low rates and affordability to first time buyers. This plan works for everyone.

I get it. They would struggle against the greatest college football team ever. We’re not talking about that. That team was lightning in a bottle. This team is dominating the best teams in the post NIL and transfer portal era and doing it with 3 star ranked players. Only 8 4 stars on the entire roster. LSU, Oregon, Bama, OSU had 40+ on their roster.

This could be an interesting case. Is it truly a contract? And is there a notice period in the contract such as one year, and are there any terms that the player agreed to which commits him to be enrolled at WU and on the team for a certain period. Is pay to play involved in the language?

A few years ago, the winners (top 5-10) of high school recruiting were always the best teams and always the Champs. Not anymore it seems.

But aren’t they still 3 stars originally?
Is Indiana changing college football?

According to a few reports I found, the average recruiting rating for Indiana is 86 - 88 which is mid to high 3 star and far below Bama, OSU, and others. Yet, they physically pushed them all over the field. Does this change recruiting going forward?

So why do you think Verge's son hit the portal and is getting the hell out of Dodge?

I laugh at all the Sloan haters unable to figure out how a first time HC at KY who will be highly motivated to succeed could possibly hire Sloan. There was more going on behind the scenes at LSU than the public knows. It’s why Woody is gone and Frank and others to come.

LOL…And when the next Manning is being recruited, how many people on the Recruiting board will be asking why he won’t sign with LSU.
re: Coach O keeping it real

Serious question for the Rant. Both Coach O and BK have been accused of becoming lazy and quitting while on the job. That’s very unusual for back to back coaches that have the experience both have. Could there possibly be something in common at LSU that drove that specific behavior from two different men? Just random quitters or something else.

You need to recruit some positions out of state. I don’t think Louisiana had a QB drafted in the NFL in over a decade. The NFL has drafted an average of 12 LA high school players per year in the last decade. Of those, about 7.5 per year were rated 4 or 5 star. No QBs and very few OL. OL averages 1.5 per until 2025 which had 5 from Kelly’s team. DL averages 2.5 per year. Besides QB, DL, and OL, LSU averages 8 NFL draft picks per year. We need to recruit out of state for the trenches.
Also, of the 12 LA kids getting drafted per year, 8 on average attended LSU

Indiana is an old, grown arse man team. Average age 23.5 years old. Many started college in schools not in the power 5 and most were 3 stars or less. They are a group of players that like football and aren’t in a rush to get to the league. Maybe one or two will get a look at the NFL. Just grown men with 5 plus years experience looking to kick the arse of a NIL superstar.

He’s not wrong. But, money drives all conference decisions. SEC makes plenty of money on conference games - because ESPn owns the SEC.
re: So much for recruiting rankings
Posted by Amused Lurker on 12/7/25 at 7:12 am to ronk
Maybe not. Indiana is one of the oldest teams in college football with an average age of 23.5 years old. These are grown arse men, not kids. We’ll see if this model is sustainable going forward but I think it will be when junior college or NAIA transfers still will have five years of eligibility like Paivia at Vandy. We could see way more grown arse men at schools like Indiana.

They are one of the oldest teams in college football. I believe they average 23.5 years old for the team. Grown arse men. Not a bunch of 19 year olds. Their players play because they want to play, not just for the money.

And people wonder why BK shut it down. He got tired of dealing with Woody’s protected guys. You’ve been saying it.

No. You’re stating unequivocally that the program is bigger than any one person.
Is Lane waiting to see if Auburn beats Bama?
Posted by Amused Lurker on 11/29/25 at 3:37 pm
I think that gets Ole Miss into SEC Championship game.
re: Why is BK claiming Tigers litigation hindering his job search?

This is the only explanation as to why Denbrock left suddenly and the year 2 drop off on D prior to that. Year 1 was a great coaching job by Kelly, House, and Denbrock given the roster and talent although we did sacrifice special teams because we used Polian to build the roster and just didn't have enough players to field a separate special team's squad.
