To be fair, Nutt had the whole state of Arky to himself. If you were born in Arky and were good at tha football, you went to UPig. He has definitely had issues coaching at a school that shares talent with three other schools. But he is the best damn salesman I have ever seen. And he knows how to utilize his agent. Put him in a region where he is the coach at the biggest school around and he does better.

He had the luxury of being the coach of a fanbase that didn't have overly high expectations from him and having just enough luck to get a handful of players who, on skill alone, were able to bring up the team to being decent about every 3 years.

Prior to Nutt's arrival, Ole Miss was around 14-32 the 4 seasons leading up to Nutt.

That ia an average of 3 and a half wins a year.

Nutt is 22-16 in 3 years and has recruited very well. We should be looking solid from 2012 on.

He made his living off of riding Matt Jones, then McFadden, Hillis, and felix. Its not that hard to hand the ball of to one of the three...he does less with more IMO

Arkansas fans act like Nutt shouldn't have used his best players to help him win games. What did ya'll want him to do? Play Michael Smith over McFadden and Felix?

You give him no credit for signing those studs and bash him if he won games with them.

Crazy shite.

sort of but Ole Miss had a lot of talent. It's not like he took a bunch of scrubs and took them to the cotton bowl.

Name a coach that has taken scrubs to the Cotton Bowl. It takes talent to win games people.

True. The Springdale clan and the Mommies and Daddies that always interfere with Arkansas sports actually wanted Nutt to play less talented players.

I have never seen so much Mommy and Daddy interference. Momma Mustain in football and Daddy Clarke in basketball.

The main problem with Nutt is his EGO. He put himself over the program. Nutt was good for Arkansas for a while, but his act got old. Don't forget.....Nutt didn't think the spread offense would work in the SEC, so he ran Gus off to Tulsa. Nutt will have more success at Ole Miss, but he will have some pitfalls as well. In my opinion Nutt is a mediocre coach at best.

That's Nutts fault for being a puss and hiring Malzahn and promising shite to the Springdale 5. Petrino wouldn't have done similar to the fact that he wouldn't offer Mosely just to get Dyer. He doesn't do package deals, thats a recipe for disaster.

This is just part of the story....Nutt also ran Gus off as well. I'm not bashing him for his handling of the Sprindale guys, but the way he treated Gus was insane or nutty

Nutt ran off Gus because he was forced to hire him and they had different offensive philosophies.
