In the last 5 seasons AU has won an SEC regular season championship, SECT, Final Four, 27-6 in Covid canceled year and also this #1 this year. First two years sucked but he still had Tony Barbee players on the team so he gets a pass. Pretty consistent IMO and clearly the best coach in the SEC

It also neglects to mention the only reason he was able to take two programs to number one was he was FIRED from the first one for CHEATING.

For one, Sutton had #1 ranking at Arkansas and I’m sure he did at Kentucky as well. Cal, I know had #1 rankings at UMass or Memphis along with Kentucky.

Hell, Mark Gottfried had a Tide team at #1, but they obviously didn't end up there.
Auburn folks make the same mistake, time after time, when it comes to horn-blowing & chest-bumping too early. It can only lead to embarrassment (it that's possible), and loss of respect if it doesn't pan out.
Why not wait until you bring home a trophy, or hang a championship banner before proclaiming superiority (sort of like the other elite athletic programs around the country)?
I promise you that you'll enjoy the ending MUCH more!
