Is Ben Howland on the hot seat next season?

Make the tournament for the first time in year four and get bounced in the first round. Lose Quinndary and Holman. Can't be the results MSU expected when they hired Howland.

He should be. Recruits pretty good but is an average to below average floor coach.

Howland will retire before getting the boot. We lose Q and that will hurt, but Woodard and Perry return and will be a force at some point. We have some intriguing freshman coming in, but I don't know if Nick Weatherspoon returns. There's lot of things to weigh out at the moment.

That was one of the most uninspired efforts from a team I have seen in the NCAAT. State played with no energy on defense at all, just let liberty walk the ball up and run their offense unimpeded. When you have the better athletes and and bigger players you impose your will on the other team with defensive pressure or at least you are supposed to.
