I haven't kept up with all of this mess much, but basically the Memphis Commerical-Appeal is going to release its three week long investigation on area recruiting issues. Auburn and Mississippi State are implicated, and some want to bring Alabama's name through the mud because we have a handful of Memphis area players and one signee had his name appear in a report.

I actually heard that it was Roy Adams who is to blame for all the snitchin.
The way that I heard it (info passed from a SEC asst coach) was that Adams was pissed at Dooley and wants him fired over some trivial crap. Adams started making all these accusations (which is documented on plenty of sites as well as finebaum show).
He talks to NCAA and drops some information on where to look meanwhile telling everyone that Dooley told him to do it.
Supposedly Dooley has called Mullen to say that he had nothing to do with it one bit (old school..let coaches handle between themselves) and that it was Adams (TNStud) that was causing all the trouble.
TIFWIW, but given some of the stuff that Adams has done in the past, it makes perfect sense.

My understanding from talking to some folks at his school, the NCAA was not asking Hill about Bama, but about Miss St. It was heavily rumored around Memphis within a few weeks to signing day that he may flip on signing day to MSU.
Sadly, most everyone that knew his situation knew he was headed for prep school or juco bc of grades.

I could see this... Thing is, no one "snitched" on us, we self-reported. Someone just unfortunately made it public to the media at a point that the whole thing was nearly cleared up for us, thus making the situation far worse(court of public opinion).
Thing is, we had been handling it internally with the NCAA since Feb.

Yeah, I believe that Adams has been making these claims since Jan or Feb. And while Miss St may have been at the front of it, I am sure he was throwing out even more stuff than was true.
That is why I think Dooley might have called to say that he was not behind it since Adams was telling folks he was.
I can tell you this right now. TN did not lose Redmond bc Miss St bought him a car. Part of the reason he lost him was bc the recruiter in Memphis at the time did not recruit the guys that hard (as told to a local HS coach in Memphis by Redmond), and well he was let go because of it.

The NCAA has been actively involved recently here in Memphis. One of my best friends met with them; they came to his home, took a lot of photos, and carried him to lunch at Mr. B's. Most interesting info from those meetings but I was sworn to secrecy.

I've never understood the blind hatred some have over a game. i want to beat the other teams when they are good. It does the SEC no good to turn everyone in like we are doing over every little thing. Once the NCAA comes down they don't just look at one program they look at many.
