Met a couple of the guys way back when. It's amazing how big they were.
I like watching them announce starting lineup. ABC used to list the size of the OL next to their names. It's fun to compare their size then and now. The left tackle is like 60 - 80 lbs heavier these days.

We got shafted in 89 against Miami in the Sugar. Ref's jobbed us.
Gave them a fumble that didn't happen, and took one away from us that we did recover. Both ended up in scores for them and was the difference in the game.

If there was ever a reason to hate Miami it would be that

I love talking about older Alabama teams. If I get my dad started on em he won't stop talking. We celebrate Christmas in Anniston every year and all his friends and our family just sit around talking about Alabama football. It's so much fun when they're in the NC
Heh, I remember how me and all my friends wanted to be Jay Barker. Seriously, every BAMA kid wanted to be like Jay Barker.

There's a real possibility had we won, we could have earned a share of the NC in 89. There was so much Miami love though, it was sickening.

I loved how they conveniently skipped over the 92 game in that 30 For 30 special ESPN did on Miami.

This.
If you were a Bama kid in the 90s, Jay Barker was like Michael Jordan or Tiger Woods. Dude was God. He's still my favorite Bama player ever.

Oh, well you're not a whole lot younger than me. I think I was a senior in high school his freshman year.
ETA: No, I was a college freshman.

When Saban was the DC in Cleveland they drafted Langham 10th overall.

Close, but he was actually 9th overall. 1994 NFL Draft

It didn't hurt that George Teague was locking down the other corner. I think the 4 DBs off the 1992 team combined for around 40 years of NFL PT. Probably the best secondary ever to hit the field.
Teague was a safety. The other corners were TP Johnson and Willie Gaston. Yes, that was a safety who ran down Lamar and stripped him.
