I'm not angered. It is against the rules to an extent (as the rule book addresses it), but very difficult to enforce and no penalty is defined for those that violate the integrity of the rules and game. Suspensions for coaches that tell a player to fake an injury have been handed down. If it becomes prevalent, the rules committee will likely address it.

Don't think I have ever seen a player injure himself walking to the sidelines, Coach.

The player in question was asked about this yesterday and he said he started off the field and couldn't take the pain anymore.
And if you believe this after seeing the video, you are an idiot.

Lol, a cleat side swiped him and it didn't even look like it hit his nuts. Regardless, he was getting off the field fine until he was apparently signaled from the sideline.

Okay thank you.

I knew it was illegal to do in the NFL and wasn't sure what the NCAA rule was.

Basically just says that faking an injury is a violation of the spirit and integrity of the game, or something like that.

Some PAC12 assistant was suspended a game a few years ago for getting caught on camera telling a player to go down.

The pain was so unbearable that as he was leaving the field he became disoriented, turned around and stood in confusion until a teammate alerted him just how bad the pain was and that he needed to lie down for a moment.

Good I am glad they are doing it and am glad LSU does it. The offense is looking for a competitive advantage and the defense is following suit. I hope Saban devotes 30 minute of practice to acting lessons. I don't give a flying flop if we do it 2/3 times a drive.

As long as teams run those fast paced offenses people are going to fake injuries, its almost become strategy. It's definitely part of the game so people might as well get used to it.

Then how come no one with UGA has been suspended, since we are so notorious for doing it?

I like how they got the other player in on it as well. The "injured" player looks towards the sideline for the "call" turns, waits, and falls, then the other player points out the "injured" player to the coaches. They practiced that play well

Because I believe what they had said. There's video to support it.

What are you babbling about? I never claimed UGA as being notorious for doing it. Stop being a defensive, petulant homer without an ounce of reason or objectivity.

To answer your question, it appears the NCAA and SEC don't want to try to police and distinguish real injuries from fake ones. It is a can of worms no one would reasonably want to open. However, if teams continue to do it to a large enough degree and ESPN decides to make it the issue dejour, the NCAA will do something about it.

It's just funny seeing Georgia fans trying to deny it.
