Seriously though, wtf happened there?

I've recently begun to look into this game as well as the rumored problems in the locker room involving the 2018 team as a whole. When you look at the statistics, this game shouldn't have been as much of a blow out as it was on the scoreboard:

Yardage
Clemson - 482
Alabama - 443

First Downs
Alabama - 23
Clemson - 21

Time of Possession
Alabama - 31:37
Clemson - 28:23

The two biggest stats that stand out to me from that game are the two interceptions Tua threw that Clemson turned into touchdowns (one via pick six and the other via their subsequent drive) and the fact that Alabama went for it on fourth down SIX times. It also hurt us being 4-13 on third down conversions while Clemson was 10-15.

In the end...I feel like the problems that the team was having internally finally caught up to them.

The game happened, but why would we focus on one we lost when we've won so damn many?

That was the greatest team that ever put on a helmet.

No, that was the 1995 Nebraska Cornhuskers.

I can’t think of any other championship game opponents who put up as much of a fight.

I still can't believe G-Mac's imitation of Jay Barker.

Hahah 2011 LSU would have destroyed that Texas team. People forget how good LSU and Bama defense was that year and we still beat them in their house.
I remember talking to a tiger player from that team a few years back at a wedding. I told him “Jordan Jefferson probably cost y’all a championship in 2011” and he responded “Jordan did his job, man. That was on coaching”

It’s incredible to think about what that 2011 LSU team could’ve been capable of had they had a more potent offense
