I can’t think of any other championship game opponents who put up as much of a fight.

Hahah 2011 LSU would have destroyed that Texas team. People forget how good LSU and Bama defense was that year and we still beat them in their house.

HA! Wasn't Jefferson you're QB? You wouldn't destroy anyone...
That Texas team was legit with a healthy Colt as their QB. They had only lost one game up to that point in the last 2 seasons and that was a last second loss.. That was when the Big 12 was a legit conference...OU was a real top 4 team then and Texas beat them, and also whipped a really good Ohio State team in a BCS Bowl the year before as well...
They took down Nebraska who had a better defense than the BAMA team they played in the Title game...Did you have anyone on that defensive line as good as Suh was at Nebraska? That dude was a beast in college as well as in the NFL.

Too bad their offense was dogshit. Suh was a fricking nightmare in that game. By far the most dominating player that I can remember Texas playing against.. that and the evil Roy Williams. frick both of those guys.

Truth.
2019 will hold me for a few more years if it has to. Nobody has hopium like that one but us. That was the greatest team that ever put on a helmet. And it was going to take something magical like that to purge that horrible showing from our memories.
It's not gone completely. We remember. But we also remember three other times we went to that game and won it.
