In 15 games, Cam Newton in 2020 had 21 Tds and 11 turnovers with the Pats. Mac in 2021, with a vastly superior supporting cast (and no. 1 scoring defense), has 18 Tds and 14 turnovers.

Make of that what you will.

Mac is a rookie, Cam is a washed up veteran.

Sounds like the rookie is showing a lot of promise to be close to the veteran.

Stats are stats. They have more wins this year, which is what matters.

Wins are a team stat. Mac has the far better team, as mentioned.

You don’t want to be close to Cam, he’s been terrible for a while.

I think I saw a stat that he is 0-13 in his past 13 starts for the Panthers.

True, but you don’t both throw and catch TD passes, or block to allow it to happen. Pretty much everything is a team stat. What is clear, is both were in Patriots’ camp and Belichick chose to go with Jones.

And yet the Patriots straight cut Cam Newton in favor of Mac.

The stats pretty much show they didn't lose much production, while getting a guy who they hope to be around for many years in the future and will get better.

No, Mac makes better use of his team.

You quoted the Cam Newton TD's earlier, but what you didn't mention is that only 8 of them were passing TDs. So he had 8 passing TDs and 10 interceptions.

The other were rushing TDs and 1 recieving. Which he took away from the running backs. The RBs only had 8 rushing touchdowns between them.

In total, the New England offense under Cam Newton scored a total of 32 TDs on the season.

So far even though the year isn't over, the offense is already up to 35 TDs. Because in addition to the TDs you listed for Mac Jones, the RBs are also getting more TDs. 15 TDs, almost double - and the season isn't over.

You blame the team, and that's such a Cam Newton thing to do. But good players elevate those around them, and Mac does that. You see it in the increased rushing production that goes along with the increased passing production.

New England knew it, and that's why Cam got cut.

You’re right, I forgot rushing touchdowns don’t count for qbs.

CN was cut because of his vaccination status. There’s a reason he was only picked up after he finally got vaccinated.

I actually feel bad considering the situation he was put in.

Comes in halfway through the year, has to learn an offense in 1 week, the OC (Joe Brady) gets fired, and then the offense shifts another direction. It also doesn’t help that they are playing musical chairs with Newton, Walker and Darnold.

Carolina’s mismanagement of the QB position as of late has been something to watch.

The whole team sucks. Their start to the season was fool’s gold.

CN1 has obviously reached the end of the road, but he did far better than anyone on this board (outside of Auburn fans) expected with his career.

It’s just a shame he got wasted by such a shite franchise.

It's funny how quickly you forget it's a "team sport". I guess that's fitting with you being a Cam Newton fan.

There is an entire position dedicated to rushing the ball. It's nice when a QB can make plays with his legs, but at a certain point you are just taking away from what they could have done.

And that is what actually matters, because it's a team sport. The QB's job is to distribute the ball to the playmakers. And his increased passing production allows the rushing game to do more.

Jesus Christ. Just log out, bro.

Your faulting a QB for being a phenomenal athlete. Might as well fault safeties than can play in the box as a linebacker, cornerbacks than can play in the nickel, rush linebackers than can rush and cover, receivers that take hand offs (Deebo Samuel), etc

You know, since there are positions dedicated to that stuff and all.

frick flexibility and being a gamer.

Mac Jones has essentially looked like a rookie this year and that’s it. He’s been a game manager for a team with a really good running game and great defense. NE literally won a game where he completed 2 passes.

And the baw has 18 TD and 14 TO on the year. That’s mediocre at best.
