Since it was ok when you were overlooking it back then, don’t turn into a bunch of self righteous snitches now that future US President Lane Kiffen chose the prettier girl, ole miss fans.

I see. So, the previous claim was absolute horseshite. Literally everything y'all have claimed about the whole situation since he was first rumored for the LSU job has been proven false. Y'all really just need to drop it.

Cajuns have such a long history of inbreeding they have developed their own disease. Over 70% of Cajuns marry kin.
quote:
Cajuns exhibit a high rate of endogamy (marrying within the community), with roughly 77% of women and 73% of men marrying within the group. This sustained, tight-knit community structure, particularly in South Louisiana, has historically functioned as a "founder population," resulting in higher-than-average prevalence of certain recessive genetic disorders due to inbreeding.
Key Aspects of Cajun Endogamy and Genetics:
High Endogamy Rates: In the core of Acadiana, up to 80–90% of Cajuns marry other Cajuns, maintaining the cultural and genetic, or ethnic, identity.
Genetic Consequences: The isolation of the community has led to increased instances of specific autosomal recessive disorders, such as Friedreich ataxia, Tay-Sachs disease, Retinitis Pigmentosa, and Usher syndrome.
Geographic Factors: Historically, limited movement out of secluded bayou communities reinforced this pattern.
Cultural Factors: Strong cultural, religious (Catholic), and socio-economic ties have traditionally favored marrying within the group.
Acadian Usher Syndrome
quote:
”Acadians are a perfect research population," said Doucet, because of their complex traits, history of peculiar diseases and other genetic problems.
Doucet is studying one of those genetic problems, Acadian Usher Syndrome. The disorder formed the basis of his "Jambalaya, Crawfish Pie, Human Genome" lecture, part of the university's Jubilee Arts and Humanities Festival.
Acadian Usher Syndrome developed because of the insular nature of the Cajun community, which was strongly united by a mutual Catholicism, the French-speaking language, early marriages and the geographical and social isolation of south Louisiana. The Cajuns are among the largest displaced groups in the world, said Doucet.
Nearly all Acadians derived from a tiny cluster of communities on France's West Coast, making them all related to each other in some way, said Doucet. This tight-knit group had a 50 percent infant mortality rate and rampant diseases running through the community in the hundreds of years before the railroad came to Louisiana in 1860.
