No it doesn't. Bourbon is just whiskey made from corn in Kentucky. The only thing that makes it bourbon is that is made in Kentucky. That's a fact jack.

It's about the branch water as well. Majority of Kentucky sits on a limestone shelf and that makes all the difference. I also believe they run Jack through sugar maple charcoal which they don't do with bourbons here in Kentucky either.
So no, it's not the same.
