Other thing I remember was when Germantown built a Walmart. They had to make it "different" From the rest. So they had it painted Maroon and white. Some say it was to piss off the town of collierville. Our school colors were Maroon and white and they were our bitter rivals. They sort of did that with one close to where I lived. It all started with a subdivision that was built there. They wanted their own zip code because they didnt want to be labelled with a "country town" address. Then when the Wal Mart went in, they fought to get them to build a Macy's instead. Needless to say, there is a Wal Mart but it looks different
