Poor people may not be qualified for a lot of jobs which pretty much limits their job prospect, and earning potential

My mother was an eastern European immigrant during the Cold War. She, her brother, and my grandmother came here with less than $300. They worked their asses off and my mother now has a degree from Stanford Law, my uncle is doing quite well, and my grandmother recently retired from a restaurant she helped start. Don't give me this "poor need more help" bullshite. EVER.

Well right now yes poor people suffer in this country because they don't have an equal opportunity of getting a good paying job, and making a decent amount of money. It's easy for the rich people to look down on the poor people, but if they were in the same situation their perspective might be a little different. I don't think many poor people are satisfied or even happy to only have a certain amount of money to buy food every month, and living paycheck to paycheck

You're fricking delusional. I work with poor people on entitlement programs every day. And trust me, they're perfectly happy to sit in their arse all day, every day and collect a check.

At least get a job. Work in frickin McDonalds or something. At least it is a job. You can make like $10/hr working retail. There isn't much qualifications for that. Trust me.

What opportunity do they not have? Public schools don't bar enrollment for inability to pay. College applications offer fee waivers for poor students. Student loans are available to anyone incapable of paying for tuition. Many colleges and universities have night classes for people who have to work to pay their own way.

Equal results are what you and your ilk want. Equal opportunity is more than ensured by the current laws on the books.

I never said that people don't take advantage of the system and better regulation and stricter rules are needed. I just said some poor people have educational, medical,... limitations that prevent them from getting a good paying job, and having a fair shot at living a quality life

shite, if the job qualifications are so high and the jobs so limited, then why do we have a steady flood of immigrants coming to America to get work?

People may not have the knowledge needed to attend college. A person could have graduated from high school but really has a 9th grade level of education

Hell half of those people that sit at home and collect checks have a better life than me. They have nice cars and kitchen full of food. I work full time and drive a crappy truck that is 20years old and can only afford just a little bit of food.

To deny there is truth in this is crazy.

Poor people aren't the budget busters though, which is what makes the focus on them seem so misguided. It's healthcare costs (which Obamacare doesn't do anything to fix), unnecessary wars, our big social insurance programs. Blaming poor people is missing the issue.

Technical schools/Community Colleges aren't that hard to get through. And they are cheap.

It's mind boggling. Does Cadillac take the red, white, and blue card?

Student loans and night classes are available at vocational schools.

Sometimes it makes you wonder why not just join them.

And then you remember that you have a backbone and don't take handouts if you don't have to.

big social insurance programs

This is the big one for me. We are way overspending here. Have loads of corruption and a lot of redundancy within programs. This is where we need to lean things out within our own government.
