Depends on what you're going for. If it's just a vacation for vacation's sake, maybe. If you have any sort of cultural ties to the area, I disagree. It's definitely worth the trip at least once.

Yeah, I met the fiancée in Orange Beach for Spring Break last year. Never again.

Isn't that a redneck beach?

Us plebians have to take alternate paths. (Though I do find the 'Private Access' signs for my pet dog Bruno...help solidify the post you understand).

Gulf Shores = Redneck Riviera. Though if you're 20 or so that's the place to go.

It was the most godforsaken thing I've ever seen. Free condo be damned. I'm pretty sure I almost died too.

Australia and New Zealand are both awesome. If I have enough money in ~40 years I would seriously consider retiring to Queensland.

I don't care to experience it.

I am, much to my embarrassment, curious about Florabama.

I have a free condo in ft Walton and destin as long as I schedule it a few months in advance. Those work fine for me.

It's pretty nice during the off season. I don't really 'lay out' anymore. But summer/spring break...hell no.

I never thought Orange Beach was all that bad. Gulf Shores in June is the single highest concentration of rednecks and white trash on the face of the planet though.

The highlight of my vacation was puking blood.

Florbama is a pretty cool bar. It's just a bunch of multilayer decks on the beach with different bands playing.

I've never experienced that, as much as I enjoy booze.

Also an odd amount of Germans there.
