I don't think I ever saw the end of a road game, until we got back and would watch it while unloading the Ryder.

My last year in college athletics we played Boise out there it was awful.

You never hear much about it, but their fans are awful. Had all kinds of shite thrown at us during that game on the sideline. They literally had to form a line with the 2nd and 3rd string guys between the stands and the starters to keep them from getting hit with the heavy shite.

Aside from going snowmobiling with the team up in the mountains and meeting Tom Landry that trip was miserable. Not a fricking thing to do in Boise.

We played Liberty and somebody hit me with a hotdog with ketchup and mustard. At Oklahoma State had a man spit on me. At McNeese had some kid throw cokes at us. The worst though was at North Texas they threw beer and Gatorade at us. Jacksonville State threw cups at us, but they were so drunk they couldn't throw straight.

Awwwww Jonsey. I'm sorry. I didn't know you were here. I'm falling asleep sitting up though.

I'll give you good night kisses.

They had given the fans these spongy nerf ball things. They soaked those frickers in beer and were chucking them at us.

We played Illinois that year and their trainers told us one of the teams they played regularly would toss oranges at them on the first TD of their annual game.

I worked a second job covering sports for 20 of the last 30 years because it's what I really enjoy doing. My advice to college aged kids is to get into something you like and make it work.

I have a cousin who owns his own bicycle store because he loved cycling. His store is very successful and he is the happiest guy I know.

One of my nephews is in school at ULM right now and got hired as a JV position coach and strength & conditioning coach at Bastrop recently. I'm glad he's doing what he wants to do. He'll make it work and he's getting an early start at a place where he will have great connections. Bastrop's coach is an Evangel guy who's dad is the HC at Calvary Baptist. I am very happy for him.

No wonder Truman had Citrus deficiency.

The best away fans I ever dealt with were probably the KState fans. They talked to us and brought us some brats as we unloaded the Ryder.
