You have to add TCU in there, they will be ranked and deservedly so. Wins over BYU and Stanford

Well, The Big 12 is having a good season no doubt.
However, after this season, Texas and OU should stay strong. Kansas and Mizzou will fall back down to Earth. A&M and Baylor along w/ Iowa St will continue to suck. Nebraska and Colo both hope to make waves in the future...who knows. Okie St and Tech both play O w/ no D. Neither will ever be nationally relevant.
As for the SEC, FL, bama, Ga and LSU(down a bit this yr, no doubt) are going to be good to great into the foreseeable future. AUB will get back on track and USCe will continue to improve. Tenner should improve and my Hogs are going to be a force in a yr or two. Miss, Ole miss, Vandy and KY have usually been our cellar-dwellers, but are better than the bottom of the Big 12.
So, the Big 12 should enjoy the kudos this yr. BUT, to state or imply that that the Big 12 is set to compete yr-in-yr-out, top-to-bottom in comparison to the SEC is just plain rantarded

I would say that the SEC is down because of offensive play. They are still the second best conference though behind the Big 12. The Big 12 offenses are a little better than the SEC defenses in my opinion. I think UF is the only team that could put up enough points in a NC game against the other elite teams.

Why next season? Oklahoma and Texas are the only powerhouses in the Big 12. Yes, Kansas, Mizzou, Okie St, Texas Tech have some fun little experiments going on, but not the talent to hang with the big boys.

There are some amazing offenses in the Big 12 this year. I haven't seen much defense so far. It will be interesting to see how some of these Big 12 teams compete against big, fast, physical SEC defenses in post season play. I think at least some of the Big 12 teams won't look so high and mighty against the SEC. KC.

I agree that the SEC is a down a bit. But even in a down year the SEC is one of the top conferences.
Look at the PAC 10 on a down year. They are horrible and were owned by a non-bcs conference.

Relative to other years, it's maybe a little bit down this year.
Alabama, Florida, Vandy and Ole Miss are better than they were last year. Georgia, Kentucky and South Carolina are about the same, or maybe slightly worse. Auburn, Tennessee, Arkansas, LSU and Mississippi State are clearly worse than last year.
