I always here Aggies say these type of things, and yet you cant sell your allotment of tickets at JerryWorld for the Arkansas game this weekend?
Its kind of like your unofficial SEC debut- and you can't get rid of your tickets. What happened to the rabid fanbase?
If ya'll can't even make it to Dallas, with a team that was ranked in the top 10 last week for a matchup against a ranked OOC opponant... are we really to expect you will make it to Athens or Gainsville or Knoxville or Tuscaloosa or Auburn?
Did you see how many Bama fans made up to Happy Valley? How many LSU fans made it up to Morgantown?
Its things like this that make us laugh when you try to act like A&M has such a great fanbase and is such a monster program

As I said--basketball games.
Personally, I'm not opposed to having female yell leaders or cheerleaders, but not in favor of sacrificing what the yell leaders bring just so we can "fit in" with other schools.

Well, that's it y'all. If LarrySellers says we must change, then by golly that's what we're gonna do! Get off the Rant and start drafting your letters to the TAMU BOR post haste.
Point is you just made a ton of changes I bet you NEVER thought you'd see. Not being in a conference with the other Texas schools, no games with Baylor, Tech, possibly even Texas
Why stop there? Change is in the air in Aggie land. Why not use this chance to get rid of all those stupid things that make A&M seem like such a joke to the rest of the world? I mean you want to be taken seriously in your new conference right? Why not stop acting like a 13 year old girl scout troop?
I know why: because deep down you actually like the Milk Men, Male Cheerleaders, the Cheer Practice, and the nut grabbing and you wouldn't change it even if you had the chance... would you

Easy--we don't give a frick about what the rest of the world thinks. We wanted to join the SEC because it's better for us athletically and culturally--NOT because we thought we needed to change everything about A&M. If you don't like A&M, well, that sucks for you, I guess, because we're not going anywhere or changing for anyone.

I think this is a perfect time to get rid of some of those embarrassing traditions as well
Jesus, get over it...We're not changing a thing. A&M is a premiere institution despite those "embarrassing" traditions...We've had them our entire existence and we're now one of the most well-rounded universities in the country. We don't hang our heads or apologize for some of the weirder stuff because it's inconsequential.
What you're saying is that we should change in order to achieve the insignificant result of not being misunderstood in a very narrow way by some very stupid people...I only wish I could better articulate how absolutely ridiculous this thought is.

No shite, I'm tired of them explaining all their shite and expecting us to adapt to them, why don't they adapt to us
i definitely agree with this to an extent. i will defend my school's traditions, but i'm ready for some new ones, ie female cheerleaders. trust me, most all of the younger aggies want this.

We aren't stubborn against hot girls. We keep them within arms reach, in the stands. Can have them getting away; that was a bad deal for everyone involved.

Every time i go to College Station, I am blown away by the amount of hot talent there. The scenery at the bars at Northgate is top f-ing notch. Seriously better than what i have seen in Tuscaloosa and Gainesville and I am not joking. We love hot girls here...there are 2-3% more girls than guys at our school. But continue to focus on our 5 yell leaders in milkmen uniforms. The State of Texas has the hottest women in the country, hands down. Just ask Hank Jr.

i'm sure the same thing was said about owning slaves, and letting women into your school, and allowing black people and women to vote
sometimes, you just gotta get with the program. its 2011 dude, not 1941. Women can be cheerleaders now, cheerleading is no longer just a mans game
As Bob Dylan once wrote, the times they are a changin'

I was talking about bowl games. But, hey, maybe we just straight sucked arse and didn't even belong in a bowl game those years. I don't know.

not going anywhere, not changing for anyone?
You just left... you just changed. There is nothing traditional about anything A&M has done in the past year. Traditions be damned, ya'll seemed like ya'll wanted to move forward... i guess i misjudged ya'll

Larry,
When you put it that way, I can totally see how your analogy involving yell leaders and the 13th, 14th, and 19th amendments is spot on.
Thanks!

We switched athletic conferences, nothing more. Guess what? A&M's done this before, and we didn't sacrifice our school's traditions to do it. It's not like the Big 12 was around forever, you know.

I have a perfect solution. Hear me out.
Keep the yell leaders. Their job is to direct and coordinate the crowd at specific times. Don't need to be a hot girl to do that.
Then, we get some hot girls that do nothing but dance, shake arse, and otherwise serve as eye candy. Everybody wins. Everybody is happy, right?

we didn't move forward, we moved east.

New low for the Rant: comparing moral wrongs (owning slaves/disenfranchisement) to the lack of cheerleaders for ONE specific athletic event.
Wow.
Wow.
