I don’t cheer for the SEC.

2004 taught me that. Every member of the SEC was quiet when Auburn was getting left out. (I will always like Arkansas for Houston Nutt standing up for an undefeated Auburn team).

I choose to cheer for teams that I like.

I will cheer for LSU, Arkansas, OM, MSU, Tennessee, and South Carolina. I like their programs, their fans, and their spirit.

I will cheer for Kentucky, Vandy, A&M, and Florida depending on who you are playing.

The rest of you I either dislike (bammer and UGA) or don’t think about at all (Mizzou).

Meh. I get it. I don't pull for other SEC teams either.

I rooted for Michigan against UGA in 21 and I rooted for Ohio State in 22 against UGA. Other SEC teams root against us.

This "SEC! SEC! SEC!" crap is lame af.

If I “pull” for a team, does it affect the outcome of the game?

Although we'll never know for certain, I'd lay a sizable wager that the fact that the SEC has produced the national champion an overwhelming majority of the time was brought up by members of the committee. Its the dominant conference period.

I'd also be curious if there is an age discrepancy and a "Travelled outside of my home region" factor at play here. I pull for most of the SEC when they play out of region, because I have grown so tired of hearing how terrible my home region is, from people who have never been to the South and know nothing of it. Call me reflexively defensive, but I pull for "my people" to prove we are worthy of respect from those who look down upon us. If you haven't experienced this 1st hand, you might find it changes your perspective

Hate Alabama all you can, lord knows I do, but it is better overall for a conference team to win a natty than not....because it makes the conference appear stronger and makes recruiting / fund raising slightly easier. In a few years there are going to 2 conferences that count...the one Alabama is in now and the one Michigan is in now. No time like the present to keep those frickers in their place even if it does mean pulling for fricking Alabama....I guess we can afford to allow LSU and Auburn some slack on this but UGA has about as much of an axe to grind with fricking Alabama as anyone and most UGA fans I know will probably be slightly pulling for the tide.

Piss on the SEC except LSU. I don’t want my rivals winning anything.

If you ain't at the game the answer is no. If you are in person and part of about 85000 others pulling for them you can make a small impact sometimes...

Why on earth would anyone root for a team you hate every day over one you never think about at all? F'Bama now and always and that goes for the rest of you that ain't us.

Like I said, screw you all. The SEC is just another conference with more money to be had. Nothing special.
