The Tubs thread got me thinking. Everyone is really hard on Richt for inability to win the big game, etc.
Would you want Richt if your coach got eaten by a lion tomorrow?

If he was available.. I'd imagine it'd be pretty hard to pry him away from Georgia

Tough question..
Who else is available?
Who else is available?

He's available. Georgia just hired Saban and Miles as co-HC's.

Butch Davis...but yes, I'd be thrilled with Richt as well.

Great guy, nice family man, good coach, but I never fear his teams... Even if they kick our heads in, I still am not scared to play his teams. Not sure if he has the killer instinct, or exactly what it is, but I think he would be on my second tier list if available.

If they fired Saban, I'd want them to rehire saban.
If a lion ate him, I'd want the lion.
If a lion ate him, I'd want the lion.

If Richt was "eaten by a lion" the coaches I hope UGA calls on are in no particular order:
Brian Kelly
Tommy Tuberville
Derrick Dooley
Will Muschamp
Greg Schiano

It's pretty clear he doesn't fear playing your team either.
Just kidding, I can respect your opinion.

It's a tough one for me because sometimes I feel like injuries problems have screwed him. Last year losing your starting LT for the year was a killer.
He got his team fired up for Florida and won a big game two years ago. So it isn't that he CAN'T win a big one.
He's had some great seasons as well and he's a good recruiter. But I have that same problem that I don't see him as the guy that will rip your heart out to win a national championship.

Richt would be my first choice.

If we lost Richt, I would love to get Tuberville.

Well if I didn't go to LA Tech I would say Derek Dooley. Great coach.
