Im not just dunking on Alabama. Everyone in the SEC (and all other major to mid-major teams) are doing the same thing.

I've seen what happens when the actual school/coaches/staff are paying players, it's called SMU. How did SMU get busted? Well a player got upset and told the media, produced proof of payments and other whistleblowers also came forward.
That's what happens.
Again, I never said shite doesn't happen. I specifically said shite does happen all across the country. What I said was Nick Saban, and probably the majority of other coaches, have not and are not paying the players.
It's just not how shite works, and it would be absolutely stupid for any coach or program to do those things.
If all you need to do is pay players, why spend all the millions on facilities and other legal benefits for the players? Why work so hard at recruiting? You're telling me Nick Saban worked harder than anyone else and Alabama and other schools spend all this money on things like facilities to cover the fact they are paying players?

I agreed with you that Nick Saban and any of his coaches almost certainly did NOT pass an envelope full of money to a player.
Clearly, they aren't that stupid.
BUT, were there back channels that got these players paid, 100%. (Just like everyone else, btw).

The list of recruits a coach/team wants is public information. There isn't a need for what you are saying.
If I'm some booster who wants to pay players, all I need to do is go look on 24/7. Although honestly, it's likely some local guy they have their own eye on most of the time.

Saban ... pretty simple how he won. He made Alabama into a Football Academy. Come here - sit a couple years unless you're really, really special - and then learn and have a better than even chance of going pro.
He based the entire thing on "Iron sharpens Iron".
And he could sell that because he was a Hell of a coach and developer of talent. Up until the Portal and NIL.
But you can't do that when your third string can go and play in the Sun Belt, and your second string can go play at the bottom of the Power Five (yeah,its Four now, but you get it).

Terri and Nick were all about cfb because it was their passion to help young men get ahead in life in all areas… academics spiritual professional when the players and parents didn’t give a rats asss about any of that they got out

I believe it was after a big recruiting party that the Sabans hosted and all the parents’ conversations centered on how much their kid was going to get paid. Miss Terry asked Nick, “Why are we still doing this?” That was the beginning of the end.
