That sounded good to you only. Most people here have been to or lived in Florida. Jacksonville is redneck, full blown as you say.

Everybody is listing stupid reasons for one school or the other. Logically, and from a business standpoint, the SEC gets it's least reward for having Mississippi State and South Carolina.
Both of these schools are low on the list for academics, fan bases, and reputable history in athletics.
All of these people saying Texas A&M and Mizzou have no understanding of business and adademics. Both of these schools are the solo conference school in populated states, and they are both are members of the AAU.
Why on earth would anyone suggest Kentucky? Arguably the biggest basketball school in the country with a gargantuan fanbase. Also, the most popular school in a medium populated state.
Also, you would never remove a superior academic instituion like Vanderbilt that rises above expectionas consistintly in their athletics. They just won the NCAA baseball national championship.
My vote: South Carolina and Mississippi State

I know all about Jacksonville considering I grew up in the area and currently live in Neptune beach. It has some redneck aspects (as does much of fl) but its not southern.

False, at least as far as USC is concerned. South Carolina has a bigger population than Louisiana and is almost twice as large as Arkansas. Even if you argue they split the state with Clemson (which really doesn't matter for SEC Network revenue) they are still worth as much as Arky at least.

That would be fine if they just split the state with Clemson but they don't
There is a lot of choices in South Carolina

So what? I could list an even bigger list for Texas.
What matters is how many cable customers are in that state to shove the SEC Network down their throats. Given the providers in that state I am pretty sure we are maxing out the revenue from South Carolina with a single member because all of them have signed on.

I realize that envy is driving some of the voting on this thread. That's understandable.
But the right answer is clearly either Ole Miss or State. There can be no rational debate on the issue, though there is plenty of irrational debate.

Either this is a clever troll or you really don't get it.

Yes, let's kick out the 2nd most successful sports program in the SEC since joining (Director's Cup), and one of the Top public universities in the nation.

not one single vote for UGA - i am dissapoint...
Looks like MSU is leading with aTm a close second
Academics do matter, here is how we rank from Vandy to State:
Vandy
UF
UGA
aTm
Bama
AU
Mizzou
UT
SC
Kentucky
LSU
Arky
Ole Miss
State
SOME rankings swap UGA & aTm and Arky & LSU
But Vandy is always 1st, Florida is always 2nd & Ole Miss is ALMOST always 2nd to last and State last (they swap places in at least one ranking)
So we drop State! When's the party?

Vanderbilt brings very little to the table outside of baseball.

Missouri. Should be in Big Ten with Iowa.
