There's a sink or swim vibe coming from Georgia right now. A "win or going down with the ship" sort of feeling to all Georgia fans. I think if Kirby flames out y'all will try and claim academics as your strength and abandon all hope in sports.

Put Nick Saban at Mississippi State and he would be unable to win a national championship. Why? Mississippi State is not capable of that.

quote:

Mullen has only had one 10 win season. No division championships, no SEC championships, no major bowl wins. Good luck with that.

So..you criticize the school for hypothetically what Saban couldn't accomplish, then minutes later put down Mullen and say it was HIS fault for what he couldnt accomplish at the same school. Zeus you can't even keep up with what you say on the same page.

Georgia high school football is objectively the fourth best state in the entire country. Alabama and Tennessee high school football sucks.

Georgia has a population of 10.31 million.
Tennessee has a population of 6.65 million.
Alabama has a population of 4.8 million.

It's not about having the 'best' it's about having a larger population. Tennessee high school football was a wasteland for several years but has finally started to produce at a level commensurate to the population. Alabama already produced on a level commensurate to theirs.

Congrats on your recent class and all but the notion that you can lock a state your size down is absurd. The states of Florida, Georgia, Texas, and California all produce far too much talent for that. Even Tennessee, Louisiana and Alabama produce too much for one school to keep them all in-state nor would you want to. Great teams are never composed solely of in-state players. As talent rich as Florida is Urban Meyer's teams had players from everywhere.

If you're within `5-6hrs of a player in-state vs. out-of-state doesn't matter with the exception of walk-ons but even there it rarely matters if the kid is making a serious attempt to be a player.

Any questions?

I take it you intentionally left out the part where I said 3-1 post season record in 2 years. Do you playa.

So you and straws just assume they were all highly rated:

1 undersized 4 star
2 three stars
1 walk on
1 2 star transfer from Tulsa

Reinforces your cluelessness.

Georgia and Florida still rank 1 and 2 when it comes to signees per participant and % recruited

Yep disagree with this.Alabama is right up there as well when it comes D1 scholarships per participant and Tennessee produced more blue chips

Maybe bit your still better off within a 2 hour window for recruits to a campus.Auburn and UGA benefit from having close proximity to Atlanta...along with the U down in Miami

1. Mullen didn't average 8 wins a year at Mississippi State.

Yes, he did. The average is 7.777777, you round up.

quote:

2. That 8-5 year was Kirby's first year as a head coach. In Mullen's first year, he won 5 games.

He was playing against the East and lost to several teams that Georgia has outright outrecruited for over several decades. Hilariously, the same Ole Miss you blast later on beat the ever living frick out of Kirby 45 - 14. Vanderbilt is lightyears behind Georgia in talent and resources, so is Georgia Tech. Oh yeah, and McElwain bounced his balls on Kirby's chin the first year so there's that.

quote:

3. Mullen has never won a game that meant anything. Kirby won the SEC Championship and the Rose Bowl in his second year.

Yeah, that's kind of a product of coaching at Mississippi State, who had never been ranked 1st -- which was accomplished the first time ever by Mullen as opposed to Georgia, which consistently has a top 25 team and recruits top ten classes for the past two and a half decades.

quote:

4. Kirby's first two recruiting classes were better than any recruiting class Mark Richt ever signed.

Mullen's first recruiting class at Florida was the best one he's ever signed and he only had a few months to put it together and the last two HCs didn't recruit top ten talent for 15 years.

quote:

5. Again, in 9 seasons as a head coach, Mullen had only one 10 win season. Bobby Petrino had more 10 win seasons during his short time at Arkansas.

This is going to shock you, but Mississippi State and Arkansas are two very different universities -- one has a shite ton of money and resources and the other is MSU.

quote:

6. Mullen has yet to pull in a top 10 recruiting class.

Probably has something to do with him being at Mississippi State. Convincing a player to go out to ''Starkvegas'' over really any other SEC University that isn't named Kentucky or Vanderbilt is really hard to do, which is what makes his accomplishments more impressive.

quote:

7. Mullen only went 5-4 against Ole Miss. Against Ole Miss! He's going to get owned by UGA and Florida St.

You mean that same Ole Miss that beat the frick out of Kirby by like five possessions? OLE MISS!!! Can you believe it!?

He might get owned by UGA and FSU, or he might turn out to be the next Saban because he's finally at a place where he can actually recruit (it is his best recruiting class, after all, this year).

He knows that McElwain was having his best class ever (top 10 nationally) before he got the boot.

Credit Mullen for holding the class together. But don't act like Mullen did magic out there that hadn't been done in a decade.

Straws likes to go full retard sometimes.

We're not even talking about the same thing anymore, we're talking about Mullen at MSU so I don't know how you have the gall to call anyone a retard. It's funny how you Georgia fans jerk each other off but then get brought back to reality by the rest of the SEC fanbase.

Here's to another long, long drought of Georgia not being able to finish (as usual).
