It's not even worth discussing if you really feel TM7 is a better player than Eric Reid. There atleast 7 players on defense in the SEC I would take before Tm7.

Of course you would. That's why you will not ever coach college football.

His man coverage just isn't at an elite level. It's good, just not elite.

Which makes him a liability when you also include the fact that he is 5'9 on a good day.

He made AJ McCarron and his merry band of 3 star receivers look like Montana/Rice/Taylor. The gameplan from the start was to attack him because he isn't a good cover guy and Chief's defenses are known for their man coverage.

He's a great playmaker. He has a nose for the football and he also had a great bit of luck last year.

I will say this, I love watching TM7. The dude finds the football and makes plays happen. He makes some mistakes overreaching for plays at times, but I would take him as one of my corners in a second.

What taking TM7 gives you:
1. very solid coverage corner. It took a game of a lifetime from McCarron to "expose" his coverage abilities and even then it wasn't an awful effort.

2. An elite punt returner.

3. A very instinctual guy who creates turnovers, whether it be fumbles or picks.

4. A guy that the fans love. He can keep fans interested in otherwise boring games. Don't downplay that, it is a great thing to have.

I am just not seeing the downside here.

Mingo
Montgomery
Jarvis
Clowney
Reid

I'd take those five before I'd take TM7.

Gave up 4 catches and 0 tds = Montana/Rice/Taylor?

Seriously though, I would take Reid over TM on most defenses, but TM fits in at LSU so well because we have guys like Reid, Simon, Mingo, Montgomery ect… that make it so the opposing QB is forced to throw into tight, risky spots. And TM reads the ball out of a QB's hands better than anyone, and with his ability to strip the ball; he's the perfect player to wreak havoc in our defense.
It doesn't matter who will be the better pro, this is still college

Thank you! You are the first LSU fan I have seen that understands what TM is and how he fits into the team. Individually he is not a great cover corner as proven by his last game, but he is a big play, game changer given the opportunity.

What? Every LSU fan knows he isn't as good as Mo in coverage, but he is an above avg cover corner.

Where was he on 1/9 ? He played the entire game and I don't recall him changing anything that game. Maybe he is just a game changer when he's able to take a cheap shot on someone.

AGAIN. HIS STATS WEREN'T HORRIBLE. HE GAVE UP ZERO TDS AND 4 catches.

I think he can be a first rounder, but only an idiot would take him second overall. QBs, pass rushers, and OTs are more valued.

I would never take a db in the top 5 but if I did it would have to be a guy whom could do more than just cover.

I agree, ER isn't the player TM is, but he is a better DB.

ER doesn't have the cover skills that TM does. It's why he plays safety and not on the outside. While he doesn't suck in coverage, TM is good in coverage. He just didn't make any big plays on Jan.9th ( he had good stats) so he is said to not be able To cover. I do think he is over aggressive at times and struggles against double moves, but most good , young DBS do too , trying to go for the int

That is what I'm trying to say. If any CB will go in the top ten in the 2013 draft it'll be Amerson. Milliner, Banks, and possibly Mathieu will be in the first round conversation, just probably not top ten.

We've been though this DMilliner has done nothing to warrant thinking he'll go first round. It makes you look so homerish.

If Peyton Manning is twice as good as he was two years ago, then the Broncos won't lose a game.

Still is a liability in coverage. Also, take this crap to the Tiger Rant.

You're showing your ignorance when it comes to football. Yes the National and sec DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR CORNER BACK is a liability in coverage. Just stop.
