If they implemented a mercy rule in football, what would it be?

Personally I’d say up by 35 heading into the 4th. I think being down 34 points in the end of the 3rd is probably still achievable for a comeback. Anybody know any games where a team lost from that position?

I know technically there’s an agreement to shorten quarters with a running clock but I’m talking about a full on Florida Rule where one of the teams just quits and makes up an excuse like “unavailable resources,” “tourney doesn’t matter,” or “staff distracted by shark week”

Wasn't that the margin when UCLA beat aTm last year?

Whatever Tennessee’s last season was should be the standard. frick, don’t make the fans suffer that much.

Vandy would swap conferences with either FSU, Clemson or VA Tech

Yes, in the '80's LSU crossed the 50 one time in the game against Florida. Next snap was a false start. Final was 20-0 - not that close! Best professional team in the US - probation the next year.

I guess 27 points isn't nearly as bad as 35.
