I can only imagine. The only other time both teams played undefeated was in 1971, for a shot at the national title. In the last week of the season, Nebraska was #1, Oklahoma was #2, Alabama was #4, and Auburn was #5. The winners of both games were going to play for the title. Nebraska beat Oklahoma 35-31 and alabama beat Auburn 31-7. In the Orange bowl, #1Nebraska beat #2 Alabama 38-7 and Oklahoma beat Auburn 40-22.

Not like it mattered, 97 was one of those years in terms of undefeated teams.

Atleast when you lost to tennessee(not that this makes it better ) they had a possible chance for a National Title. Florida was like 9-1-1 in 1994

Im not i said that because everytime someone mentions a player Auburn is recruiting he is a Auburn lock so i figured i was gonna hear it.

To be honest, it wasn't much of a shot. Penn St. finished undefeated that year as well but still finished a distant 2nd to nebraska in the polls.
