The Big 12 did not have a conference championship game at one point and they declared a dual Big 12 champ. Both of those teams were left out. The conference championship should be left in place otherwise just go to the super conference. Without the conference championship game Clemson would have been left out. Even winning the conference championship doesn’t guarantee a spot (just ask FSU).
I would hear that the SEC championship means more than the National Championship and now the SEC is advocating for no championship game? I guess it doesn’t mean more in this conference… I liked watching that Texas vs Georgia game even if we lost and if we get left out so be it, we should have won so we wouldn’t be in this spot.

seems like SC fans might want to hold off on the predictions given its history in football....
SC didn't finish in the top 5 in the SEC despite it being a down year for Bama and LSU, and not having to play the top 3 SEC teams.
I don't think UGA's defense gonna let SC's QB run for 16 yard first downs.

Clemson will get stomped if they continue to use an injured and slow Mafah like he's Etinienne. Clemson coaches have a tendency to dedicate themselves to certain players even when they aren't getting it done. Both DJ and Cade should have been pulled multiple times the previous two seasons but the coaches never did.
We saw Texas do that in two games against UGA rather than using Manning.

I like Clemson's chances against Texas, Penn State and ND. Those seem to be the top 3 projections.

They left out an undefeated FSU last year that actually beat some good teams.
Leaving out SMU this year is child’s play compared to last year. SMU will be left out.

Clemson's not terrible but run defense has been one of its flaws. SC strength is the QB run. it wasn't a good matchup but Llemson still led most of the game.
Clemson gave up a butlload of rush yards to Citadel the week before.
think Texas and Penn State rush attack will be easier for Clemson to defend. ND's QB might be a problem, he beat Clemson with Duke.

i don't think any sports media person picked Clemson to win
most everybody thought Alabama was a lock to make playoffs prior to the game. Clemson's win changed the conversation
if Bame doesn't make it, it was because of Clemson booting a 56 yard FG as time expire. Ironically, Clemson had the most FGs blocked this year.
that will hurt Alabama fans for a long time because Bama is good enough to win it all this year because there are no dominant teams.
If not for Clemson, Alabama would have 2 more titles, and possibly 3, assuming Bama gets left out for SMU because Clemson beat them but just barely.
