Not wanting to give the ball to RR more? I kinda think that's what we need.

Develop a QB (and we have Mett plus 2 coming in that will be good one's).
Balanced O
I'll take it

What Les did a decade ago in a different league isn't very relevant. What he's done at LSU is, and he's always been a "pound the rock" guy.
He has just not run the same type of offense at LSU from year to year.
Compare this
2007

2006
with this
2010

2011
2006/2007 are very different in their philosophies from 2010/2011

Did you feel that way when it was 2nd and 3 against Clemson and a first down wins the game and we don't run it on 2nd or 3rd down?
It's not about run/pass ratio as much as it's about the predictability and the scheme itself.

Situational football.....of course it doesn't apply to all scenarios.

Which comes back to being balanced. Play action and develop a QB.
Do this and LSU will be tough to beat.

The Ravens were 9-2 when Cameron was let go, I wouldn't exactly say he was shitting the bed.

Look I'm not saying its a bad hire, without question it's an upgrade. I'm just not ready to pronounce him to be the Chavis of the offense just yet.

He didn't want to put the ball in the hands of his best player in Ray Rice, so I don't think he is that good.

Much has to do with personnel, specifically who the QB is. 2005-2007 we had Jamarcus and Matt. If RP hadn't hosed up we would have seen a continuation of the same type O. It was attempted I think with Lee, but he turned out to be a pic machine. The staff realized JJ had no pocket presence but at a certain point he had to be put in. This year Miles demonstrated every game he wanted to pass more. For a variety of reasons it wasn't very successful but the idea of 'pound the rock' has more to do with QB development/performance than anything. As a sidenote, I'm not piling on Lee/JJ. The QB development under Miles has been generally poor of late and unless it improves I'm afraid we'll be on the sidelines watching the Saban train go by, along with everyone else. JMO.

Yep, and Boldin was damn near unstoppable. The whole stadium would know the ball was going to him and it didn't matter.

i'd like to add that, minus his rookie season, Rice had over 250 carries and 1100 yards every year. over 1300 yards twice. so this whole "not giving Rice the ball" crap is a bit misleading.

Nor am I
I've heard his biggest issue with the Ravens and Harbaugh was getting the plays in quicker.
I think LSU will thrive under CC. We shall, hopefully, see soon.

I think it is worth a shot. They know each other from Michigan days. Stud really needs to just stick with OL, Krag can take a non coaching position at LSU. If a hire is coming maybe it should have been done earlier but by and large the recruits we have in place will be fine, just need proper development. Give CC 3 years as a college OC so he make his case to be a HC at a big time program one day.

Yeah, some of the comments on here are cracking me up. A "meh" for fricking Cam Cameron??? lol
Cam Cameron would easily be the most highly regarded OC in the SEC upon his hire. What has LSU been missing? A little offense. What do you do? You bring in an experienced, successful OC that will get the job jone (it doesn't hurt that it's someone that Miles will trust handing over the reigns of the O). Cam Cameron is a grandslam hire for LSU, and any non-LSU fan that claims otherwise is simply put: scared and/or uninformed.
Is it possible it doesn't work out on the field? Sure. But - on paper - Cam Cameron as LSU's OC under Miles is an amazing hire.

In 11 seasons as an NFL OC/HC he has had two top-10 offenses.
Not worried.

CC is one of the winningest offensive coordinators in NFL history FWIW.

You shouldn't be. LSU wins with Defense and ST. Offense - if it ever comes to fruition - is just lagniappe anyway. If CC gets the O on track, we go from winning 11 games a year to 12-13 games a year. If he doesn't get the O on track, we continue winning 10-11 games a year and competing for titles periodically. Either way, LSU isn't built on offense and never will be, so it'd be silly to get "worried" over offensive changes at LSU.
