you're not going to get many honest answers on this board

On paper he's probably the perfect fit for LSU's need at OC. In reality you never know about a hire until you see him at the new school
He has a long and good relationship with Les Miles and great success in the NFL independent of this. There's good reason to think he knows the college game since he worked at the college level for years (1983-1993 Michigan, 1997-2001 Indiana).

His Michigan and Les connections:
quote:
Cameron spent the first ten years of his career at the University of Michigan, where he learned from long-time Wolverine coach Bo Schembechler. After two years as a graduate assistant, he became Michigan's youngest assistant and was responsible for tutoring quarterbacks and receivers
quote:
On June 5, 1993, DiNardo, Cameron and LSU coach Les Miles were all in the same room. That was the day Miles got married. DiNardo and Cameron were groomsmen. Miles and DiNardo were assistants together at Colorado in the 1980s. Miles and Cameron shared an office as assistants at Michigan in the 1980s and 1990s.
His NFL credentials:
quote:
With his teams securing a better than .600 winning percentage with him as offensive coordinator (100-57 regular season record in 10 seasons with San Diego and Baltimore), he is one of the winningest coordinators in NFL history.
quote:
Under Cameron’s direction in San Diego, Philip Rivers earned a Pro Bowl selection in his first season as a starter and Drew Brees earned a Pro Bowl berth in only his third year as a starting quarterback. In that third season,
quote:
In his 11 seasons as an NFL head coach or offensive coordinator, Cameron’s offenses led the NFL in points once, finished among the top five on three occasions (1st, 3rd, and 5th), and finished in the top half of the NFL nine times
quote:
The 2006 Chargers offense directed by Cameron is one of only 28 teams in NFL history to average 30-or-more points per contest. It is the 21st highest-scoring offense in NFL history, and 14th-highest over the last 25 years.

i'm surprised it took you 4-5 posts until something like that was posted
and they do care about winning which only makes it worse that they don't cause they're actually trying

Miles just needs to fully trust his OC, and CC seems to fit the bill in that regard

Really? I care very much who is calling the plays for teams we play every year.
Les is still going to be the head coach, right? LSU's offense will look very similar no matter who the OC is. It's the same with Saban and Alabama.

Lol get your head out of the sand. Offense hasn't changed much/if at all since Les became HC.
the offense has changed more than once since Les has been HC.....but keep on arguing with LSU fans about LSUs coach...it makes you seem really smart.

richt only cares once his job is on the line

lol, and here we go.
They will all say he sucks or doesn't matter.
So predictable.
Of course, they're above all that. As per a recent thread, they don't even have meltdowns after losses, just calm, reasoned analyses of what they shoulda done differently. They're just so cool!!

the fear in this thread is palpable

The interesting thing about Les Miles' reputation is how it has changed over the last decade. At Ok State and for the first few years at LSU he was not regarded as the "pound the rock" guy he is now considered to have always been

I think it would be a great hire. My only problem is how long is he willing to coach before jetting for NFL offer.
That's the problem bringing in NFL guys for coordinator positions. But who knows.
Cameron/Chavis would be a good combo.

Miles trust no one, not even his groomsmen.

not worried about him bolting, it looks good on our program and then we can go scoop up another good oc.

Anyone who doesn't believe this is a home run hire over an OL coach and QB coach with a very tough disease he's dealing with is delusional. This is finally someone Les WILL listen to and respect. SEC fricked!!
