Lord forbid i state the truth. Nico and tye oline both play scared. If want to play scared you can sit the bench and let a less talented player who doesn't play scared take your position. That would be some proper motivation.
Y’all wanted Nico last year.
Now you want the next guy.
Rinse, repeat.

Vols are scared shitless at the possibility of having a losing record to Napier.

Doubt it but he definitely needs to take a break before this breaks him.
Before it breaks him? You may need to read his post again. If OP was serious then he is already a broken man (or teenager).

You would see nothing but excellence if i were coach. After i coached them they would be in fear for the lives of losing their lofty starting positions and would be playing like it.
I would hire the absolute best position coaches too which means I'd fire Willie Martinez my first day on the job and the oline coach and OC as well.
They would all be history and i would tell Danny White to throw money at the best defensive backs, offensive coordinator and oline coaches in the country and make them our highest paid assistants and i would even go as far as to cut my head coaching salary in half to better compensate my:
OC
DC
Oline coach
Dline coach
Strength and training coach
I would be a CEO type of coach and my only job would be to make sure we have the best staff in the entire country and that they are paid better than any other staff in the country.
And by default, if you are playing not to be injured or to protect your future NFL career, you'd see the bench and your backup will be given a fair opportunity to take your spot.
I'd be the best head coach in the country because i wouldn't play favorites, leave my ego at the door and I'd hire people much smarter than me and just let do their thing.
With that being said, my first criticism of Josh Heupel is why in the world Martinez still on our coaching staff coaching our DBs???
If anyone can give me an answer that's doesn't make Heupel look incompetent then let me know because i can't think of any valid reason he should be on our staff.

That’s what Sam Pittman is trying to do. And he knows a hell of alot more about football coaching than you do. But dream on I guess.

He did the right thing with Petrino and it's already paying off.
Arkansas doesn't have the amount of NIL resources that Tennessee has though. Our Spyre NIL collective is rated second best in the country.
I would simply be a CEO kind of hands off coach and go hire the best staff in the country and make sure they are well taken care of but also held to extreme standards for the appropriate compensation of of course.
My only rule would be if you aren't giving it 110 percent every single snap then you can hit the bench and to transfer somewhere else if not willing to fight for your starting position.
