Ole Miss needs to go after a solid assistant in the Saban tree mold or someone like a Dan Mullen or an OU assistant.
Kirby would be my first pick. Then Gus, then the pirate. Yes you get consistency with Leach, but I dont konw about excitement. I'd rather have fantastic defenses than fantastic offenses. You gotta play D to win in the SEC and Leach will never recruit defensive players. Someone mentioned Strong and I'd love for us to go after him. If we could snag Strong I'd put him ahead of Kirby, but that might be out of our reach.

Ole Miss recruits Alabama, Louisiana, the Memphis area, and Florida pretty heavily. He could definitely find some talent in all of those fertile recruiting bases.
They also recruit Monticello, Arkansas

Damn. I saw you talking about NCAA on the gaming board and was gonna get a game going.

I don't think they have many other choices...and the SEC gets stronger....

FWIW.....my first pick would be the Gus Bus. I think our defensive coaching staff is good enough to hold most opponents back with sufficient talent and experience(but i'm sure the same can be said for most teams).

Ole Miss chances of winning the west is about as good as States, very slim. It doesn't matter who you hire. I would focus on someone who can make bowl games on a regular basis and go from there.

Bingo.......
This is what I'm looking for in Nutt.

Pank, our defensive staff will go before Nutt goes.

It's very likely......but it just really depends on some certain aspects.
I can see Nix getting canned with Nutt....but I also see us trying to hold onto a few assistants.

I think that is what you have in Nutt, just hit a rough patch last year and this year, Ole Miss looks to be strong in 2012 if the recruiting classes shake out.

agreed....but our 2012 should be brutal. @UGA, UF(we'll see), Texass, and then our normal West schedule of @LSU/Arky/Bama and MSU/Auburn at home.
