will Bama's poor showing hurt the Gators chances of outright winning the MNC? It may be split big time. Not taking anything away from Utah...they flat out whipped Bama on both sides of the ball.
I don't think that Bama came to play at all. They did not play "Bama ball."

yes. but very minimal. if you beat oklahoma by less than three and texas beats ohio st. by more than 12 then there is a great chance of a split. so, go out there and win by 10 and celebrate you title.

They played lil nicky ball. Bama ball died with da bar.

Unless Fla kicks OU's arse, the fact that the Utes beat Bama more convincingly than Fla, gives them the edge on my ballot.

Yes, Ole Piss beating Tech and $aban shitting the bed hurts UF but if Texas arse whips tOSU then you're fine

wrong. if osu beats texas and you beat oklahoma, then you're fine. if ut beats osu badly than you would have to beat ou by a pretty good margin to avoid the split with ut.

good luck.

a split is a joke- all coaches agreed to the bcs and if you win it, you win it. frick the AP

i agree. but, in all other college sports, the plaque is the same for the ap title. so, those that hold that "same" plaque feel like champions.

There won't be a split. The only way there would be is if there were a controversy over the #1 team and that team didn't get into the BCS championship game (see 2003). Commentators just like stirring shite up.

don't underestimate the lovefest for USC. After Pete Carroll finished declaring USC as "unbeatable", I wouldn't be surprised to see USC win the AP ... particularly if the NC game is close.

Like 1984 said,

But.. With Utah winning they will take some of the USC votes, believe it or not, b/c they are 13-0 which with the Utah win actually hurts USC.

It depends if the Gawds of ESPN deem it so. Remember they know everything. they will get a memo and begin the proper spin this week to get their will done.

Actually I think the Utah stuff should die down by next Thursday, unless ESPN decides different.

the media for decades has hated usc. the love fest as you call it, that is going on now is because USC is good

Did you even watch the Rose Bowl? I had to turn off the volume because I couldn't stand to hear any more gushing from Musburger.

I agree, it was nauseating. Mushmouth is but a small component of the media though. Jesse "North of the border Rico Suave" Palmer is the anti-Musburger. Every other word out of his circular bacon eating pie-hole is a sly dig at USC.

Edit: Back on topic, I'd vote Utah #1 over anybody else. They've beaten 4 top 20 teams, stomped a mudhole in Bama in a BCS game (and did it much prettier than Florida) and haven't lost to anyone. Ole Miss turned out to be a good team, but no way a National Champion should have lost to them at home.

If Texas beats tOSU and Florida struggles mightily, you have a split vote between Utah and Texas in the AP. If tOSU whips Texas and OU or UF wins a squeaker, Utah will IMHO be the AP Champion.

no. the gators will have the crystal football which is awarded to the NATIONAL CHAMPION at the end of the year. unless the crystal gets cut in half, whoever has it on january 8th is the champ. no split...

Did you hear Kirk Herbstreit during the game? "I don't think anyone looks as good in a uniform as Taylor Mays."
