Florida has to fight for every recruit in Florida, even though it is a talent-rich state. Everyone and his brother is recruiting Florida, aggressively. If Florida St and Miami ever get out of the ditch it will only get more competitive.

As far as facilities are concerned, everyone has facilities.

That's the point, Florida has had talent to compete but lacked coaching...until Spurrier arrived.

But you are right, South Carolina is an example of getting successful and big name coaches - Holtz/Spurrior

When I was a kid, I watched the Bear Bryant show, excuse me, the Golden Flake Bear Bryant show, after Alabama's 40-0 win in Gainesville. On that episode is when he said it. I remember it vividly.
