Bama is a football school. LSU is a football school.
I tried all year to talk about LSU baseball with people at work (Kenner), but no one cared. They didn't even know who they were playing or any of the players names. All of them said I don't care about baseball. As soon as LSU hit Omaha, everyone jumped on the band wagon. Everyone is the biggest fan today.
No one cared about the Baseball team under Smoke when they were bad. Look at the attendence. People did care about Football during the Curly days.
LSU is a Football school.
Bama Fans would be the same way if we were in the same situation. Bandwagon would be overloaded today. I'd say the same goes for all SEC schools.

Hey, I don't want to be absent today, but felt like it was your day and shouldn't intrude. Great game, and great victory. I love to watch after the game where they show all the personal stuff like the coach with his dad. I also think it was great that Coach Miles was there and supporting his players. He seemed really involved with the game, and quite proud of them. I like to see coaches supporting each other, and it looks good for the university to have this unity.
So as a Bama fan, I'd like to say congrats on the win and the championship, and believe it or not, most Bama fans were pulling for you... I know that's easy to say now, but it is true.

evne when LSU was "bad" they were still making the CWS...
Smoke just looked like her didn't give a shite when he was here.
good recruiter, but bad head coach.
and from 2001-2005, alex box still had people show up...
LSU and Florida are just "sports schools" in general.
Those two schools do everything well.
They might not win everything, but they'll come close.
Think about that: Florida: 2 BCS titles in three years. 2 Basketball titles, back to back.
LSU: two BCS titles in 5 years, a final four, and two baseball titles in 8 years.
baseball,basketball, and football schools.
what other SEC teams can say that?

Brilliant observation. I imagine LSU produces more Rhodes scholars than anyone else as well.
So what part about "Alabama fan" didn't you understand?

Jesus Christ! LSU just won a baseball NC (grats by the way) and all you people want to do is talk about bama.
I really don't even know what to say.

One can argue that Bama deserves 1/2 of the LSU 2009 CWS championship.
See...Saban built up the football program enabling LSU to sign recruits like Chad Jones and Jared Mitchell. Now that Saban is gone, the baseball program will decline.

we would probably never hear the end of it.
I think it's nice to win a championship in anything but college sports has become football and everything else.
Look at the popularity of the NFL compared to MLB... the Superbowl has over 100 million viewers while the World Series has less than 20 million viewers. Football is king in America and especially in the SEC.
The LSU baseball team had a great tournament but I don't exactly follow when you imply that the Bama fans are lusting for a Baseball title. It's pretty much football that Bama fans worry about.
Congrats on your win. Sorry about your Bama obsession.

Instead of sitting back and enjoying this moment and your teams acomplishment here you are ragging on Bama. Why is that? Can't you just enjoy this without bringing up another team or their fans. I moved out of La. some 20 years ago, but it seems that y'all are still dealing with feeling less than other fan bases or other people. Just enjoy this NC for what it is and do not worry about what other people might or might not being thinking or saying. Oh, congrats!

This board is usually full of Bama posters. They are strangely absent today. How many NCs have the Tigers won since Bama's '92 title which resulted in their almost receiving the death penalty?
Bert...research, my man! We did not "almost receive the death penalty" for 1992 infractions as there were none. Langham signed something - a contract, a napkin, whatever - AFTER the Sugar Bowl game...hence, there was no in-season infractions. The Langham issue was the first in a series of NCAA run-ins, therefore we would never have received the death penalty.
Anyway, congrats on winning the CWS as I said you would on 06-17-09.

Heh...death penalty for a first offense of a player signing a napkin!
