It's easy to look good with Bama's roster.
I guess Saban has nothing to do with that.

If we want to see how good Saban REALLY is, let him coach at Vandy for 4 years...
Yeah, because all top coaches go to places like Vandy to coach football.

Don't get me wrong. Saban is the absolute GOAT. Not really intended to be a smart arse comment. (Bama's my 2nd favorite team and where I send my daughter/money)
We just get these leading question threads around this time each year... usually on the way to the playoffs. I know many Bama fans wouldn't want a year where losing to A&M was considered Nick's "best" anything.
This year's team reminded me of some of the 1&done UK teams. Needed some time to learn and figure out how to get talent to work together, but the pieces were there.

I think these sorta leading question topics are absurd in years like 2012 or 2020 when it is clear by the end of the season that the roster was just stacked.
This year it is a more compelling discussion because I think everyone can look at this rendition of Alabama and make a justified determination that they are a lesser team than the year prior.
In my opinion, some of the best coaching jobs by Saban at Alabama were not national title seasons like 2008 and 2014. The only title season that would be near the top on that list would be 2009 simply because that was still not quite a stack roster...the core of that team was a mix of Shula players and Sophomores from his first full recruiting class.

But that team was loaded with high end future NFL guys.
Every Bama team is.

The sport is very watered down so probably not.
