The third team would still make the playoff and get a bye. Theoretically they would be in much better shape playing one less game.

Ok, in the unlikely event this happens, remember this when you want to complain about ESPN pumping Texas and Alabama and why everyone has Ole Miss ranked behind them.

Conference records will be equal, so it's going to be based on other things.

It would be just our luck to finally have a legitimate claim to go to the SECCG and not go due to some wacky tiebreaker. Auburn or Vandy will upset somebody on a fluke play and that will tip the scales for Texas or Bama.

Not playing in the SECCG would be a benefit if you’re guaranteed a playoff berth.

Winning the SEC is great, did it last year, probably have to move one out of the trophy case to display it.

Winning it all is the goal.
