you should give Louisiana a try. I've lived in both and while I enjoyed Atlanta and Savannah I found that Louisiana was my favorite by a long shot.
Atlanta
I mean, as big cities go, it is ok....I guess.
I was born in Baton Rouge and lived in Sulphur for a bit, too. I prefer Georgia, but both states have good places and crappy places.

They are good. We stopped at one of those places at the Clanton exit one time to buy peaches and other fruit, vegetables. They sold ice cream. My wife wanted "Peach" as it was one of the selections.
Lady said,"we're out of peach." We just looked at each other has there were oh,mayb 50,000 peaches right there.

Cumberland Island is a national treasure... a world treasure.
1500’s spanish mission ruins, indian shell mounds, natural history, wild horses running around with pedigree going back through the spanish breeds, basically a look back in time to see the steeds that the conquistadors rode. Old Rockefeller mansion ruins. Driftwood beaches. Only accessible by boat, no roads, no bridges, it is still as it was 1000 years ago.
I urge anyone who hasn’t been to Cumberland Island to put it on your calendar.
St Mary’s is a nice place to stay if you don’t want to camp.
You won’t want to go home. It’s so beautiful it will make you hate yourself.

You have ever been to Grand Isle, LA? It’ll change your life forever

Generally true, but I'd rather live in New Orleans than Atlanta.
Really? I don't care for Atlanta, but New Orleans is the arm pit of Louisiana.

I would not leave Louisiana for Georgia. Just my choice.
It's a matter of what you get used to and the culture you enjoy. Most Louisianans wouldn't leave Louisiana, and most Georgians wouldn't leave Georgia. Both states have their pluses and minuses.

I've moved out of LA on purpose twice now, not going back. There are so many reasons. Sure it's home, it has its positives, but we just got tired of complaining about it and went somewhere that had more things we enjoy from climate to landscape to accessibility to cost of living and it was a long damn list but it was an objective one.

Depends if you like Yankees and exorbitant prices (great restaurants though).
I'm biased so its Savannah for me.

Ive lived in both and now live in Texas. If I had to choose to live Louisiana or Georgia again Id choose Louisiana.
I still have a lake house in Georgia on Oconee but despite the scenery and seasons the people and activities in Louisiana far out value that of life in Georgia.

Mais, that sounds like down the bayou.
Except more like 500 years ago. There were no horses in North America 1,000 years ago.

I can't really say. All I have ever seen of Louisiana is what you see when you cross it on I 20 and that's not a fair sample size. Georgia is okay, we have a little bit of beaches and some mountains and a hell of a lot of cotton, peanuts and soybeans. There are prettier states out there I know

Is that my only 2 choices?

I live in South Louisiana and I hate it. Only thing keeps me around is fishing and food. BR has the worst traffic. I was stationed at Ft. Stewart. Savannah and Tybee Island is really nice. South Carolina is right there too.

Well after what their priests do to altar boys, what could they say about anything anyone else does?

I have vacationed in Cheery Log, Blue Ridge area. And loved it. Been to Ft Gordon and Benning. If i had to chose a second state to live in,it would be Georgia. Not Atlanta though please and thank you.
