you should give Louisiana a try. I've lived in both and while I enjoyed Atlanta and Savannah I found that Louisiana was my favorite by a long shot.
btw, I've traveled south Carolina off and on for 30 something years for business and found the people of the state great folks. I wouldn't want to live there tho; other than Charleston it was rather meh.

When you're not from Louisiana, I can totally understand why someone would rather Georgia. But I'm from Louisiana and theres something special about the marsh where you grow up with this weird connection to it.

Georgia has everything. Beaches, lakes, mountains, swamps, huge metropolitan area, tons of history.
