I've never been confident in the Butch Jones hire. His staff is pretty depressing. That said, judging anything based on the current roster is silly. This is by far the worst Tennessee roster of my lifetime. The job Dooley did "rebuilding" was borderline malpractice.

We actually ran the ball ok on Saturday

I don't mean to be contrary but 66 yards and 2.9 per carry isn't exactly running the ball OK.

Isn't that like a 8 year high against florida? It seemed like a lot, OK?!?!?!?

Remember all of those atrocious Derek Dooley coached teams?

Well, this team is worse (or worst for the under-educated LA people OTB)

This team will make a bowl game.

I had no idea Dooley was that bad, but the results are hard to argue with.

We have to win 3 outta Mizzou/Auburn/Vandy/UK and yes I thinks it's doable

I only see one win for sure there.

Certainly not based on the team's performance so far, but I can seem some improvement and think by that part of the season it can be done

thank God opinions are like assholes and everybody has one

Didn't mean to sound condescending. It's just that I've been there before, myself.

A lot of people on the "offensive line is underperforming" train.

Maybe you should hire Sam Pittman

Pittman is an excellent O line coach. You'd have a hard time finding a UT fan who wanted to get rid of him.

I like Butch as a recruiter and CEO. But the coordinators will need to be upgraded if he ever wants to win anything of note imo.

This offensive system in particular is absolutely horrid imo.

Jones might need to make some personnel adjustments, but I think he's going to make Tennessee respectable in fairly short order.

You would think this a good lesson to the Miles/Richt/fill-in-the-blank complainers. The cure is usually worse.

What should be learned is that you need to fire your guy before he steers the train completely off the track. If Fulmer had been fired after 2005, we would just fine in all likelihood.

Also, don't put a fundraiser in the most important decision making spot. You can recover with a good follow up hire. It's hard to do it after one bolts and the other is a turd, and you're left paying two coaches to not coach.
