I will never complain about a 3 loss team being left out of the playoff in favor of

... a 2 loss team from a major conference. Specifically, bama lost 3 games, 2 of those to .500-ish teams, with one of those 2 losses being by 3 scores in late November when great teams are supposed to be hitting their stride!
If we get in I'll be happy. I hope we get in. But I can not in good conscience say we deserve it.

Maybe. For the sake of justice/fairness/whatever the right word is, someone else should get the spot.
I still hope it's bama though.

This isn’t so much about deserve as it is the committee telling every single team that schedules do not matter. Play the weakest teams you can, and rack up as many wins as possible against bad teams. Putting a team with a 60+ SOS and 2 losses into the CFP is a terrible look.
That’s the complete opposite of what the basketball selection committee has said, and will destroy college football out of conference matchups. No reason to risk losing when the committee doesn’t care how hard your schedule is.
I don’t care if the committee puts SC, Ole Miss, or Bama in, but putting SMU in will ruin 3-4 weekends of college football every season.

No team “deserves” it. All teams had games they should not have lost.
