yeah, there's a lot of excuses running out there for everyone that lost. But if you don't think having an honest-to-goodness actual successful head coach calling the game is relevant, then I guess nothing is.
Fwiw, even with Wade on his A-game this would have been damn tough. But I think it would have been different with him.
Waters was wasted today. He destroyed the Big 10 POY straight up, and with some creative scheming he could have been penetrating and racking up assists. Reid was wasted too, he doesn't need to be hovering around at the top of the key leaving Bigby Williams as the low post option.
Starting Smart over Taylor was a mistake, we needed Taylor's defense and as a target for lobs when Waters penetrated.
You make those adjustments before the game gets too out of hand, and I think LSU could have hung around for one of their usual late spurts. But unless Mays catches fire from 3, I think we still go down. State looks tough.
