I just saw on the rant that Ron Brooks is gonna start at SS and is 5-11, 175. Are you kidding me?
A. That's LAST year's measurement, when he was a corner...
B. What is a Bama fan doing talking smack about that? Rashad Johnson much?

Tide, Danny McCray will end up starting ahead of Brooks IMO.
They guy who might possible start ahead of Brooks is Karnell Hatcher. McCray will play situationally, hopefully as a S/LB hybrid.

I have a good feeling about McCray in his senior year.

I think Phelon was a CB at LSU. Maybe Brooks>Jones.
Brooks was a better corner, too. FWIW

Well I hope you are right. I like the kid.

I've posted some measurements on a few of his beloved Bama DBs and can't get a response.
quote:
Mark Holt at 6'0" - 169 lbs.
Marquis Johnson at 5'11" - 180 lbs.
Javier Arenas at 5'9" - 193 lbs.
Robby Green at 6'0" - 180 lbs.
Brooks is listed at 5'11" - 175 lbs.

McCray is listed at FS if anyone starts over Brooks it Hatcher.
Now Ron Brooks, yea he totally sucks, we have such little talent, this little dude is gonna start for us.
BTW, Ron is such a good athlete he forced his way into the line up. He is also known to be a freak in the weight room, reportedly pound for pound the strongest kid on the team.
But yea LSUs secondary is just full of over rated prospects. I mean really Chad Jones he is not as good as he plays. Thats all smoke and mirrors. P2 so over rated Saban did not want him.
Lets just agree Robbie Green is a future HOF and LSU is just scrubs.

FS. He is small, but we are thin there and FS/=SS. We just had a smaller FS and he was a bad arse. Ask Jarret Lee about him.

FYI, Brooks came in as a CB. The same position as Phelon.
I don't give a frick where they came in. Phelon was playing corner for LSU right?
EDIT: Bama's SS is Justin Woodall who is AT LEAST 210.

How much you think he weighs now? He didn't add 25 lbs, let's be honest.

Rashad was bigger than 175 and he played FS. Also, Ron Brooks will not even be 1/4 of the player that Rashad was.

Holt is listed on your roster.
Brooks was thought to be a better CB than Phelon. So good that they are willing to move him to another position just to get him on the field. While willing to let Phelon transfer to your "deep" secondary to get him on the field. See the difference, yet?

This shite doesn't even matter. He weighs (or did last year) 175 lbs. Good like bringing a guy like Ben Tate down when you're that size.

This thread was originally about a 175lb SS starting in the SEC and you managed to hijack it. LSU has NE Patriots talent, why is a shrimp playing SS?
So you're saying that a 175lb guy cant play SS? Before i continue, please tell me thats what you're saying. Please

9/10 if your SS weighs 175 lbs, he's not gonna be the strong link in your D.

well when you have a player like Chad Jones sitting at 220+ on the other side of you, i dont think it becomes that much of an issue..

Papadouchebag's argument was addressed by a Florida fan with the Ahmad Black point. Papadouche has yet to answer because he can't.
