We just need a gymnastics title. Last year was so close.

Alabama's difficulty and skill is lightyears ahead of Arkansas.
Having 3 falls on beam is like throwing 5 interceptions in a football game. Even being the better team, it's hard to overcome that...even though they still made it close even with 3 falls.
If you want to beat Alabama in gymnastics then you have to get them early in the season which Arkansas has the benefit of, before Alabama works in all their difficult skills in at the season's end.
Fact is Alabama will be in the NCAA national championship meet, Super Six, and Arkansas won't.
Alabama was throwing D and E level skills last night and Arkansas didn't because they can't, they don't have that level of athlete.

So gymnastics is unlike all the other sports and they don't work on things in the off season?

That is far from a fact. Arkansas is #9 in the nation. Arkansas started gymnastics in 2003 and has be in the NCAA tournament 12 times(every year). They've also made the Super 6 twice(2009 & 2012).

Meh..Alabama's highest score this year is 196.875 and Arkansas' is 196.700...not that much of a difficulty difference.

that's not necessarily true. The beam is the one that gets in your head and puts the screws to ya when even the slightest of bobbles happens. Teammates watch and then it's in their head too. That said, I agree with the rest of your post. Dude was being a sore loser with his comments.

It pisses me off that Tennessee doesn't have a gymnastics team, or a wrestling team, or soccer.
