So who is going to be the starting QB at OM? Mackey or Brunetti?

I don't know any more. I'm excited to see either one to be honest. If I had to pick, I'd like to see Brunetti.

I think the game could determine who goes to a bowl. State might be at 4 wins though. They weren't very good last year but benefited from a few teams being down, they didn't beat any good teams, so they shouldn't have as easy a schedule. Ole miss should win 6 or 7 including the egg bowl, 35 10 with a knee Rebs..

Kinda surprising Nutt has been pumping Brunetti after Mackey was #1 in the spring. I know a few OM posters on here were/are HIGH on Mackey. (Pank and RebFebrees)

Brunetti looked real good in the Spring game.

I've heard people say that the reason Nutt is being so vocal about Brunetti is so it lights a fire up under Mackey and he works harder. Not sure how true that is though.

I don't know....I actually think that it's going to be a fight to see who gets that starting spot for the BYU game.

here's my piece on the qb situation:
After seeing the Heppa work for a few years, I cant help but feel that what I am about to describe is the case with our qb situation.
By saying that "BB would start if we played today", Nutt accomplishes 2 things:
1.It motivates Mackey. This is the most common thought on the whole situation.
2. It fires up the fanbase about BB's future. If Mackey does win out (and he will), it's a win/win for the fanbase. Everyone gets to see Mackey play finally and at the same time they are excited about the future since Brunetti "was so close in competition." You've also given BB confidence through this whole process. Never underestimate the Heppa's ability to play to his fanbase (especially after an abortion-type seasons.)
I still believe that Mackey will be our starter for BYU. But if Brunetti wins the job, I will still be excited to watch him play. I am for whoever gives us the best chances to win football games.

I don't care who the starter is as long as he's the best man for the job.

People forget that with our running game our best offense might be a run/ play action type offense. (Think Croyle under Shula at Bama). If this is the offense that Lee wants to run then Stoudt has just as good of a shot as BB or Mackey. People are forgetting about him because he was suspended for the spring game but he will get his chance in the fall.
With all that being said, I would love to have Mackey start, Stoudt be the back-up and redshirt Brunetti.
My take on the egg bowl is that Nutt will have OM as ready for the egg bowl as Mullen did his first year after the 45-0 debacle. It should be one of those games where records don't mean anything and it is just raw emotion. So in a sense MSU will have a slight advantage with it being in Starkville but it will be closer to coin-flip type odds then State by double digits.

Are you referring to Mullen evaluating CJ, Brassell, Singleton, etc and realizing they were not as suited to his system as a handful of 2 stars he had seen earlier? Because that is the only reason Mullen doesn't sign these big name players...

Kind of like him signing the majority of the DD the two years prior? 2011 hurf durf hurf
Shut the frick up until your program can get competitive with it's in-state rival on the field again.

Was it Brunetti? Or was your defense just super-shitty? Pretty much everybody looks good in a spring game.

Or maybe State fans should shut the frick up and stop walking around with their chests poked out until they accomplish something besides finishing 5th in the West and beating us in a year when we also lost to vandy and jacksonville state... You would think State had just won the NC as cocky as they've gotten. It's really annoying.
Oh yea you beat a horrible Florida team too, my apologies. You're the tits now
