Ole Miss has beat State once in Starkville since the early 1990s. Try again.
Wrong. You try again.

Yeah I wouldn't call 1997 "early 90s"

This year's Egg Bowl will be Houston Nutt's last game to coach Ole Miss.
Back to Back losing seasons > Back to Back Cotton Bowls.
Throw in three straight losses to State and the boosters will force Boone to sever ties with the Peepa Heppa

Ole Miss has won 4 times in Starkville since 1991 and State has won 4 times in Oxford since 1991.

Ole Miss hasn't won in Starkville since they had Eli back in 2003. I was there in the rain that Thanksgiving night. NOT a pleasant memory.

Yeah and State won last year for the first time in Oxford since 1998. It's not like either team can really brag about that at this point.

so much dumb shite in this thread, I'll just reply to everyone:
1. If you said Mississippi has any chance of beating State this year, you are very dumb.
2. If you said the Egg Bowl was to see who will go 6-6, you're a rahtard. Worst case scenario for State in 2011 is 8 wins. Worst case.
3. Make sure you people are around after we throttle Auburn
Have a nice day

How is that a "dumb" statement? To say there isn't a chance that your instate rival will beat you is dumb.

Nutt is in their head..
With all the mud slinging Mullen is doing, Nutt will have his squad uber motivated this year in that game. Nutt is not a man to give locker room material too. All this our State stuff Mullen is doing is going to bite him in the arse

Take solace in the fact that we probably won't beat y'all as bad as we're going to beat Auburn.

since the rivalry moved back to campus 20 years ago- Mississippi has not beaten a good State team in Starkville- all their wins came against garbage teams

Mullen has done it since Day 1- and all Houston has been able to do is lay there and take it- this November wont be any different.
Nutts had his chance last November in Oxford- instead it was 31-9 in the 4th quarter and State just ran the clock out- in hindsight, I wish Mullen had tacked on a couple more. I can assure you- Mullen wont let up this season after what took place last Jan-Feb
