In the east I think they can beat UF, UT, Kentucky and Vandy. I'm not sure who they draw in the west other than Bama. These guys are going to be fired up and playing with a chip on their shoulder all year. I can't wait to watch em play. I'm excited about expansion.

I think they can too. The East is way down.

Yea, but once UGA and UF are back they won't have a chance in hell.

They only play A&M and Bama from the West. I think they end up 5-3 in conference losing to UGA, USC, and Bama. Wouldn't be surprised if they beat UGA and/or USC though.

thank you. We are not coming in thinking we are going to roll people. We know it will be tough sledding, but looking forward to measuring up to the best and let the chips fall were they may.

That's interesting coming from a Kentucky fan.
Mizzou will have to improve its recruting dramatically over the next 3-4 years. If they can do that they could rise up every 3-4 years and make a run regardless of the levels of the other schools in the division.
If we do not make some significant strides in recruiting (open up areas inside the SEC footprint and lock down our borders) and make some serious, long term investments in our athletic infrastructure we will have some long term problems ahead of us.
Its exciting and its a chance to erase some of the huge mistakes our AD made with the football program in the late 70's and on into the 90's.

Why is it interesting?
Mizzou recruits about on the same level as Kentucky.
We always give UGA a good game and have beaten them pretty often recently, but Mizzou will not be able to consistently compete with the current talent level, just like Kentucky.

I agree. I think they will be pretty good. I don't think they will be great, esp not at first. I think that them being in the SEC will help them with recruiting. I don't think they will be dominant in the near future, but I can see them winning a few games against Eastern Division teams.

Bowl eligible
nothing more.

Missouri's success is going to depend on having the right HC and staff. Bear Bryant had an undefeated team at Kentucky.

That's not really relevant.
At the time Kentucky was a great football program and always had been. And needless to say things are much different now with regards to recruiting and demographics.

They should be on par with where FL is now or was in 2011. FL 7-6 SEC sched MO 8-5 Big 12 sched. So that should be about where they finish this year. No SEC team will sleep on them may not beat them but they should be ready.

My expectations are 4-4 in conference. I wouldn't be disappointed with 3-5 as long as we go 4-0 OOC.

I don't think they beat UF or UT

Question to the Mizzou fans...do you think the recruits from Texas are wanting to go to Columbia or do they stay within the Big 12 area? I think that the move to the SEC may hamper the pipeline you had in Texas and you guys may have to look elsewhere...thoughts?

They lucked out and they return a good amount if last years team.
Add that to the fact that the East only has two good teams right now in UGA and USCe.
They have a good chance of competing next year and going .500 or better in conference play.

I think they will be ok. Yes, they will be playing with a chip on their shoulders but at the same time everyone else won't wanna get beat by the "new guys."
Plus they will be playing stronger competition and will most likely fizzle out around mid season as their team gets beat all to hell physically.
I other words, they gun get raped.

I say they split lose to UF beat UT. There is some bad mojo in TN right now. No way to know if Dooley can right the ship. Pick FL cause they're FL.

haha
I think they will be competitive with any team with a bad defense, maybe even Arkansas?
We'll see.
