Literally none of these are in auburns favor. A more recent title and 1 more heisman are the only metrics in which to compare programs that Auburn has the advantage, and "more recent" title is kind of a retarded category anyway.
Although, I haven't added up all the total years of coaching experience on our staff like Auburn has so y'all may have is beat there too idk

Since 1970 (51 seasons), AU has 22 wins over Alabama compared to 29 losses.
In those victories, AU only has 5 double digit wins, with the largest margin of victory being 12 points.
Over the same time, Bama has had:
8 x wins of 10-19 pts
7 x wins of 20-29 pts
4 x wins of 30-39
1 x 49 pt win

I don't really disagree, which is why 14 of 22 AU IB wins came in the 25 year inter-GOAT period. Pat Dye and JHS, turned the tide in the series for AU. And, probation and coaching disasters in the 00s made a good career for Tubs in the IB history.
Just have always found it funny how the IB is one of two games for the most part.
Close game in AU's favor or a blowout by Bama. Not a lot of middle ground.
That is a large sample size and only 23% of AUs wins were 10-12 pts, and Bama has has 70% of their wins at 10+.

I'd like to take a stab at this.
Just speculating, but a knock against Malzahn was always his predictability.
Could we interpret this scoring trend as his initial game plan surge (1Q), followed by defensive adjustments and Malzahn's refusal to change his scheme to match (2Q-4Q)?
That would explain the lack of offensive points as the game progressed, with the defense staying relatively consistent throughout.
ETA: About the defense, I guess over eight games it would be about 6 points in 1Q, followed by an average of about 9 points in 2Q-4Q. Maybe a lack of offense was giving the opponent more possessions/turnovers.

The great success that Kirby is having in recruiting perhaps is hurting AU since they depend much on Georgia talent. Nick is also signing more state of Alabama guys. Harsin has his work cutout for him.

While overall recruiting is part of it, I still think until the 2021 recruiting class, Auburn did a good job picking up GA talent since Kirby has been in Athens.
Auburn - and Gus's - offensive recruiting problem was on the OL.
Counting the 2015 - 2020 signing classes, Auburn only signed a handful of 4-5* O-linemen. The only 5* OL transferred out to FAMU and then to FAU (Calvin Ashley, just signed as an UDFA with Tampa Bay) and one of those 4*s never developed into a starter after graduating in 3 years (can't really blame the kid for forgoing his remaining eligibility and perusing a non-football related professional career; it wasn't like Gus was churning out NFL O-linemen).
Anyone following Auburn could see the OL depth problem in 2018. It became obvious to everyone in the SEC in 2019. Last season was more of the same.
