Most likely they get in and get wrecked by Ohio State.

Better yet Dan Mullen is hired as the next Auburn HC.

TN doesn't get in if LSU beats Georgia.

UT beat LSU, away, worse than UG beat UT, at home. Now consider that LSU is SEC champ (in this scenario) and the nod could definitely go to UT to be the second SEC team
I mean, good logic

I'm just saying Georgia is going to be the benchmark this year. They are in unless they lose TWICE, which won't happen.

So, if LSU wins out and beats UGA in Atlanta, I think the committee puts more weight on that, than on Tennessee's win at LSU over a month before.
They would be looking at top-end, not overall performance.

We'll see. I don't think LSU beats UGA in Atlanta, so to me it's all theory anyway.

A national champion should not have 2 losses. Especially when one of them was that Keystone Cops game against FSU.

Do you really think they will hire that big of a name? Last time is was supposed to be someone better than Saban…you see where that went. He is now gone and they are hunting another Tubberville.

Hope and pray mutt that anyone besides Tennessee gets in. We all know you are scared of the rematch
We were three uncharacteristically errant Hooker throws away from it being anyone's ballgame.

We've had one already. Auburn was in clear position to be a second, in the playoff era.

You're talking about a 1 point loss in game 1 of the season, against what might be an 8 or 9 win team.
I don't think that will carry much weight, especially considering it was the first game of Kelly's program. Hell, they may even use it as a highlight of how much LSU has improved over the course of the year.

IF LSU gets in at 11-2, you expect the committee will have bullet points set up to defend that move, because it would be the one most question.
So, I would guess they would focus on:
a) SEC Champ. Winning the premier conference in all of college football. That carries some weight.
b) beating UGA head-to-head, and I would fully expect UGA to remain the overall favorite to win it all. Being the only team to do so, that will be emphasized.
c) you mentioned the Fla State game, they might come out and say LSU started with that, and has progressed to being elite. Might say had Kelly already been at LSU a season, you don't see an opener slip-up like that.
d) they would clearly emphasize how the team is playing "right now", at the end of the season. Nobody can deny winning the SEC and beating the consensus #1 would be a huge point of consideration.

We see seedings affected in other NCAA sports due to level of competition. Coming through the SEC is going to bring more cred than any other conference, and we all know that.

There are probably 5 or more SEC teams better than Oregon.

Only game 1 Oregon. They are every bit as good as the vols.

Uh, no. The PAC-12 sucks. Georgia, Tennessee, LSU, Ole Miss, or even Alabama would be more than they could handle. Maybe not the blowout that Georgia put on them the first game, but they would have a tough time with any of those teams. Georgia would truck them again, just like the first time.

Same thing with Texas - TCU, Longhorns are favored this weekend. Plus TCU will play Baylor the following week and Big 12 championship game against Texas again...for 2 losses.

Texas won’t beat TCU, they play a great game in the 1st half but they suck at second half and adjustments.
Sarkesian is a great coordinator when he has Sabans foot in his arse and our defense to hold up the 2nd half. Texas doesn’t have the horses to hold on and win against good teams.

I would gladly take Sark back into the coaches rehab program.

In a 2 or 4 team format I completely agree. Though LSU is the only 2 loss MNC champion since the BCS/playoff era began, so they have that going for them

. Too lazy too look, but maybe the only 2 loss champion ever.
