I didn't think the yell practice was that bad. It's there own unique thing.

My biggest issue, if you will, is that literally everything at A&M is a "tradition".

I'm more embarrassed by arkansas losing the first ever game on the sec network, but that's just me.

Yea it's like calling everything tradition is a tradition in itself

I don't think you get it. We know that everyone has tradition, and they are proud of those traditions. Every school has traditions. All of them. The point is that some of yalls quite literally come across as a little..different. And yes, gay. The dudes are in all white, hugging and shite in the background, making weird gestures to the crowd, and practicing something that you're born knowing how to do…yelling.

And I don't think you get that we couldn't care less if you like us or our traditions.
I guess that's the point I've been trying to make (but failed).
"Holy shite! Y'all are gay! Aren't you embarrassed? Blah blah!"

The answer will always be a shrug, a smile, and a "heck no, we're not ashamed."

What I've learned, otoh, is that how others perceive y'all seems to define your self worth.
Do your own thing & frick the dorky haters from Alabama, State, Ole Miss, and LSU.
It just doesn't matter.

plenty of posters here, and apparently Texags, were embarrassed. Just saying. But I don't blame you for having pride in our school.

Dude I love the campus, I love the school and I'm excited to start my program here but that Yell Practice is just weird as hell.

When I tell people back at home about it the look of confusion of their face cracks me up every time. I've learned to narrow it down. "Yes they practice their cheers, yes it's only dudes, I don't know where it came from"

I said it in a thread last week. Yell practice before the LSU game in CS two years ago was the most awkward I've ever felt at a college football event, ever.

Most likely the byproduct of very young fans (who aren't yet vested in the university); t-shirt fans who don't get The Spirit That Can Ne'er Be Told; trolls/alters from other schools; and or people with self-esteem issues.

They'll grow up and learn what is/isn't important in life.
